I have been having so many failures to get the phone to "slide to unlock" when the phone rings that I started using the touch sensor (fingerprints) to unlock it.

However, a lot of the time when I do use the sensor it still comes up with 'slide to unlock'. Is there any way to either fix the non-responsive 'slide to unlock' or get rid of it when the fingerprint sensor is in use?

Thanks

Why would your phone have difficulty slide to unlock??

have someone else try it and see if it unlocks. I have a coworker where her iphone sometimes doesn't register her swipe/touch, but it works fine when I do it. if it's still doing it, could be a bad screen, have the store look at it.

It's not uncommon. I've had or seen it happen to every iPhone from the 3G onwards. Thankfully it's only happened once on my 6+ as it's quite irritating. Would be curious as to the cause.

I've tried getting my wife to swipe it and it only works for her sometime. I don't use moisturizers or anything like that.

I have used a small squirt of eyeglasses cleaner liquid and micro-fiber cloths to clean the screen to make sure there's not a layer of dirt/grease building up on the glass surface.

What would be great is if there is some other way to get into the phone instead of the swipe. Especially when using the fingerprint sensor. Is there any way to get the phone to accept the fingerprint and not use the swipe at all?

While it may seem trivial to some it is causing problems as I use the phone for business calls.

This used to happen on my iPhone 5 very often, only a restart would fix it. Can't say whether it happens on my iPhone 6 as I use Touch ID all the time.

When you get a call coming in and you touch the fingerprint sensor, does your phone ask you to 'swipe to unlock' or does it let you answer the call and speak? More often than not, on my 6+ I still have the 'swipe to unlock.

Oh yeah didn't think of that. Had no problems on my 6.
