At the keynote introducing the iPhone 4, Steve Jobs said, "It's our 4th iPhone so we are calling... IPhone 4."

The next iPhone will be iPhone 6, not only because it will be the 6th iPhone, but to emphasis the large differences between the iPhone 4/4S generation.

I suspect... Form factor redesign with slightly larger screen, thinner. LTE for sure. Likely NFC for payments, better maps with driving directions etc.

Fair enough, but then it should be called the "6th iPhone" rather than iPhone 6. :)
iPhone 4 was called iPhone 4 because it was the 4th iPhone.

The phone that comes after iPhone 4S would be iPhone 6 -- definitely not 5.

Umm, the trend suggests an iPhone 5 and iPhone 5(?) will come before an iPhone 6. Too early to think of a wish list for a phone we probably won't see until 2014.
Wow, so many people don't understand why iPhone 4 was iPhone FOUR.

4.3" screen
Thinner and lighter and more curvy, pretty much an iPad2 mini in shape
3D capability without glasses
12mp camera
32,64,128gb

Thinner but with constant thickness (no teardrop)
Symmetry of face maintained
Slightly larger "edge-to-edge" screen (but what about losing retina density?)
Same or better battery life
NFC

Get the LTE and suffer battery issues EVERYWHERE and use LTE in only a few cities.

Also Apple has become majorly global nowadays and many countries still don't have LTE technology. Think deeper, think different.

Does it even matter anyway, not like what we want has any say in what Apple does anyway, besides iPhone 6??? What about iPhone 5

They will build a phone with all sorts of stuff and people will buy it or complain it doesn't have a coffee maker or expresso machine option, so what difference does this thread make when we have not even seen the 4S yet, at least not until next week.

My only question is have they now moved to a Release Window of October of every year instead of June??? This will be an interesting point going forward and wondering if the Dates will float every year.

The only things that's mattered to me was the screen size, notification light as for now. Tho the iOS has great autocorrect but sometimes it just recognizes wrongly due to me typing it not accurately

What I want:

4"-4.3" screen with Retina resolution
Thinner
Better front-facing camera
Some awesome new feature I haven't thought of.

What I'll probably get:

LTE (pointless unless your country has actually started implementing it)
NFC (pointless, for me)
3.7" screen with no resolution change
Slight redesign
But with also some awesome new feature I haven't thought of.

thumb-print scanner

Don't care if it's in the iPhone 6 or the one after but my biggest wish is a thumb-print scanner on the Home button. Can't tell you how frustrating it is to enter an 8-character password with caps and alphanumerics only to get the last character wrong and have to start all over.
