Apple Watch Sport Edition I'll probably end up getting along with bluetooth headphones for workouts.

I have no intentions for using my iphone 6/6+ for running or for the gym, I find my 5S too big in one of those armbands I use my iPod nano. Definitely worth getting alongside an iphone if you run a lot.

It's like anti-tech.

Strapping large bulky devices to your body for some simple purpose.

You should have a small, light 100 gram GPS watch that can track your calories, workout, play music through bluetooth LE, record your heart-rate, be super rugged like a G Shock, waterproof etc. Afterwards your can upload your data to any site of your choosing, like Strava, Runkeeper or whatever.

You should be able to leave your phone totally behind. Stick your nano-sim in the watch as you're leaving for taking calls/texts - if you want to be really fancy about it (I think the new Gear S can do that).

Apple and sports don't mix unless you turn your ability to reason off and are prepared to make some sort of sacrifice.

Those with a 6+ would be better to just get a second device like an iPod nano or classic for working out. That massive phone on your arm would be way too restrictive for any serious workout much less an actual run. I even think the 5s is pretty uncomfortable to run with.

I guess the 6+ would be fine for those who just use the treadmills and ellipticals though since you can just set it on the machine.

Isn't the armband material flexible and designed to stretch and flex along with your arm during workouts?

theres a reason why you don't see many bodybuilders using armbands. Average folk sure. i don't want anything on my arm. hip maybe but I'm good with my pocket

iPhone 6 workout worries GONE!
Leave your damned phone in the locker or at home whilst you're working out. If you need music then use a small mp3 device.

You people who use FlipBelt - do you put your device in a ziploc baggie first to keep it dry? (I was reading info at the Flipbelt site.)

If it looks like it may rain, yes I do put my phone in a baggie to protect it from water damage. Also if it's incredibly hot out (sweat). It works. I've been caught in the rain a number of times. No damage.

The bag that FlipBelt includes fits a 5 so you'll have to use a different bag for the 6/6+

Most of the people at my gym are average folk and use armbands so I guess an armband would work for me. Thanks for the insight!
