So far 4 out of 5 iPhones I checked have it. With my first iPhone it was so load i could hear it using 3D touch. With the phone i have now, you have to press harder. So in normal use I will not hear it. But it is annoying just knowing it is there.

Shall we just disable 3D touch? Ugh.

Because of you use a case you press on the case or the case fades the sound away.
So actually Apple shouldn't even bother designing a nice phone because we'll all use a case anyway. Uh, ok. Weird thing to say.

So now people are going to start exchanging their iPhones until they get a one that doesn't creak.

I think almost 80% of iPhone users use a case. So I don't see how that is a weird thing to say.

It's weird to suggest that exterior defects are not relevant because people will use a case anyway. By following that logic, why wouldn't Apple simbly grab an off-the-shelf Chinese OEM reference hardware design and put iOS on it. Triples their margins.

I did not say it isn't relevant. I was just saying most people will not notice the creaks because they have a case on it. I have heard few people complain about creaks, and I think the reason for that is that most people use a case. Like i said before, I checked out the phones of my friends and so far 4 out of 5 iphones have creaks. But only one had it so hard you could notice it under regular use.

Mine has it but it is around 1/3 to half way up on the left side when looking at the back. Haven't decided yet on whether to insist on an exchange.

I've exchanged mine 3 times already.. I don't know how common this is but it does make me crazy.

Mine has the same issue, sometimes it "pops" when I pick it up, if I press the back I can make it pop again by gripping the sides of the phone. I thought it was my case so I bought a new one (Apple original) but now I know that it is the phone itself.

This is somewhat annoying on such expensive telephone. I usually buy premium phones so I'm not custom to this on new phones.

I wonder if this is the same issue I had. I had a creak/popping noise about 50% of the time when I pressed the sleep/wake button. It kept getting worse the more I used my phone. After about a week, I finally called Apple and they sent a replacement. The replacement doesn't do it.

Yes, it was very annoying, but I could've managed with it. However, I was concerned about a possible problem with a seal somewhere that might affect longevity.

I've had 2 space grey models & 1 gold iPhone 6S and of of them exhibit this annoying creaking sound on the back just on top of the iPhone logo when pressed firmly. Does anyone else notice this?
Yes. My 6s Gold 128gb creaks below the apple logo when pressed even slightly. Doesn't bother me that much as my iPhone 6's loose screen did last year.

so not only does this phone have a peek and pop feature, it also has a creak and pop.

Wow. I used an iPhone 6S Plus that did this. Kinda weird. I chalked it up to the force touch technology built in, which to me was a big "meh, boring."

Same here. Clicks and pops if squeezed to reach power button. Rare during normal use, I investigated putting the phone on a smooth surface and pressing where the body is more flexible, under apple logo right in the middle of the phone. Doesn't happen when using force touch, I realized it because I thought it was the screen but that's not. It happened pressing with to opposite fingers, so by exclusion I realized it was the back. Several users complained about that. So, It's better not be ocd with iphones, many issues there.

My phone does the same. I don't use a case and it's so annoying when I 3D Touch. I think this also affects the vibrate because the vibrate has a slight click to it as if something is loose. Have been debating whether to get a replacement for this and also my loose home button.

My replacement does it 5-10% of the time. Much better than the original, but it's still there.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's the speaker that is popping.
