hello all,
Wanted to ask, how is your battery life. I can never last a day. I see that mostly it is Messages, about 40%.
Do not have lovations services turned on and my screen brightness is around 50%.

If you tap on the screen it will show "on screen" time of each app. This would probably be helpful when looking at it.

Edit: I attached my battery life with screen time but it only shows last 24 hours and not time since last full charge. So this may not be a great indication of battery life.

This is why I upgraded to the 6 Plus. The 6 is nice for the size but the battery didn't last all day like it used to.

Here is mine. So it is normal? Not to last a day?

It's really difficult to say. Your app usage seems to be reasonable. But it looks like between Facebook and Messenger those are 30% of your battery life there with a lot of background time. I've read that Facebook uses a lot of battery and some people were recommending to use the mobile site instead of the app. I haven't heard or read about Messenger using too much though.

Also things such as screen brightness and cell signal could affect it.

Are you unable to get through your normal day without having to charge? With my 6 I would usually leave around 7:30-8am and get home around 7pm with usually anywhere from 20% to 40% battery. I haven't really tested my 6S plus as I work from home more so I charge as needed.

What to do about background? I am able to use facebook app a lot less, but Messages I need to use. Nope, need to charge twice per day:-(

If you're charging twice per day I'm going to assume you're probably getting about 4 hours of screen on time (SOT) per charge. While that may not seem like a lot, it's as good or better than some Android phones. As far as what to do about background time I don't think you can do anything if you need to use those apps. You could try not using the Facebook app but using the mobile version on safari to see if that helps with more battery life.

So what are the usage and standby times that are included at the bottom of that screen (as those provide quite a bit of information related to all of it)?

I'm seeing more than 6 hours of screen on if I'm calculating right. That's about all an iphone can do. It's been like that for years. Try turning auto brightness on, turn location services on but limit it only for the apps that really need it. Also try turning wifi off, it looks like you have only 2 out of 3 bars. Wifi drains battery faster than LTE from my experience.

Also your home/lock screen on is very high. Mine is usually only 10 mins per day.

I usually charge my iPhone 6s at 9pm and two hours later (11pm) it is full charged. I use it a little bit before go bed (12:30 am) and then leave it (without airplane mode). In the morning I use it a little to read news and social media before going school. I listen music while I walk to school and in School I don't use my phone very much (maybe 15 minutes of screen). At 2:40pm I walk home with music and then when I arrive I check my phone (3pm to 3:20), I go to sleep and in the afternoon I use my phone much but when I'm studying from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. When I charge it at 9 pm it still has 30% of battery.

I have to say I've got everything on, I didn't change anything on my iPhone and I only use battery saver when it tops 20% or when I know I don't go home.

Started using iPhone less to last a day and it obviously works. After 20 hrs of using, still have 36%.

That looks completely normal, more than 6 hours usage and over 22 hours standby. You said it couldn't last a day but you lasted longer assuming you sleep and charge for 8 hours.

Battery is completely normal. Better than 'normal' if you look at Apple's standards. They say you should get a minimum of 5 hours of usage for a battery to be considered 'normal'. You are getting 6 hours + 22 hours of stand by with 20% remaining. Try deleting Facebook app, its notorious for horrible battery life. I only use FB through Safari, Messenger too.

I know when I initially made that change I didn't know how I'd get on with no push notifications but I've been doing just fine!
