Hey guys.. I have a small question to you. My battery is extremly running hot during the summer eventhough I try to have my brightness super low because of battery consumption. When I say low, I mean like 15% brightness. However I feel the feeling with light use it gets super hot,.. Is sby experiencing the same? The battery capacity is also lowering down that way.

1. are you playing a game with the phone when it is hot? what are you doing when it is hot?
2. if it is hot while doing nothing, reboot the phone
3. if the problem still exists, check the battery stat and find what is causing it.
4. if it is an app, delete the app and install it back.
5. if the app still behaves the same way, delete the app and report to the developer.

1) I only use the phone for messages, whatsapp and safari.Nothing else. Deleted facebook app because of the draining. However when I leave the house it is mostly only for messages/whatsapp because of the battery draining and the heating of the battery.
2) Never happens, But btw the rebooting on the iphone 6s is the same as before right? Because last time i tried to do this however it did not work.

To be fair, I bought my phone back in march and it came with ios 9.2.1. I had no apps on it, but my phone was running always hot and the battery usage was reaching max 5h30. After this I reinstalled and updated it to the newest firmware. It got better, sometimes my battery lasts for a long time sometimes not. Strange thing. And as I said when I am outside it gets super hot after using it for under 1 min. I have for the second time dust under my screen and I do not feel like running again to my operator so that they can send it in to Apple. It s gonna take about 2 weeks to get my phone back and most probably my battery is gonna take a hit if they do not exchange the phone for a new one.

A few times my SE was running hot too. I remember I was just browsing the web, and not for long either. Don't know what's causing all this.

Ah my phone had the same issue.

The heat is caused by the intense battery drain. I read a really useful article which I cannot find, but it said things like turn off unnecessary notifications, turn off apps in the background, charge it on a cool surface rather than a cloth or something. I did all this plus perma put on low battery mode and have only had one or two occurrences of it since. Though yours seems a different issue, maybe something wrong with the internal components.

Have you tried a factory reset? If you have then:
Try talking to Apple on the phone/live chat if you don't want to have to give your phone to them first to see if they can suggest anything.
