I would say close to zero chance of anything listed except for the 2GB RAM and possibly the higher megapixel camera. The external hardware of the 6s will be identical to the 6.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the timeline of somehow when I bought my 5s one year ago I had the most advanced phone hardware on the planet, but now the latest iPhone 6 is two years behind in hardware tech.

What chance would you guys give to the following happening on a NORMAL iphone 6s:

1) Non protruding camera

2) waterproof

3) higher mpx camera

4) 2gb of ram

5) reduced phone size (reduced bezels)

?

1.) 99
2.) 10 (though I'd love it)
3.) 99
4.) 99
5.) 0

I fail to see why so many feel waterproofing is a gimmick. It's the number one reason people get ohones repaired or replaced next to a cracked screen. If that's a gimmick, so is trying to scratch proof and shatter proof a screen.

2GB with split screen/multitasking in IOS 9 - 100% chance
....and only the 6S(+) and iPad Air 2 will get the functionality.

Why does everyone say waterproofing (resistance) is a "gimmick"? We carry these things everywhere. Water is a very real part of life. I was beyond disappointed to know my 6+ would NOT be water resistant .

That would be a MAJOR turn off to people who bought the 6 and 6+ only a year before. If they incorporate split screening/multitasking and this years models don't get it, I personally would consider looking elsewhere for a phone.

They're money hungry, that's plain to see by still including a 16GB model as their base unit, but at some point they have to protect their consumer. I understand planned obsolescence, but Apple usually supports at least their last device.

Fingers crossed... I'm not really into having to look around at other phones.

Same body design, both will have slightly bigger batteries too, 16/14 nm A9 SoC (probably a 3 core CPU next time around and also Imagination Technologies recently announced Rogue XT 7xxx series coming out next year)

2GB of RAM on both for sure, slightly better front and back camera, 6s 4.7 inch model gets OIS ?

Well they do it every time. 5s had touch id and slow mode camera. If the software function requires hardware..... it is what it is.

Because they haven't had an accident where some water got on their phone so they fail to see how it might come in handy sometime.

  1. Non protruding camera - 5% - You do understand WHY it protrudes, right?
  2. waterproof - 0% - It would be nice, but it is just not going to happen.
  3. higher mpx camera - 50% - A natural upgrade as time goes on. But Apple tends to be stingy about these things.
  4. 2gb of ram - 50% - A natural upgrade as time goes on. But Apple tends to be stingy about these things.
  5. reduced phone size (reduced bezels) - 5% - As long as the iPhone has a physical home button, it will have fat bezels. And since TouchID is a thing now, it will probably never happen.
