Hi, not sure if this is where I can request for help but I'm really lost on where else to go..

I just did my iPhone 6S glass repair today, after removing the cracked glass with a molybdenum wire (everything went smoothly), just before I was about to start wiping off the adhesive (attached image blue circle), I realised there is this layer (attached image red circle) that seems to have been cut by the wire when I was doing the glass removal.

I did not continue on to do my new glass application as I was afraid that the layer that was cut may be important and may cause the whole screen to not work anymore.

Can anyone please advice what is it and whether or not I need to get a new replacement of that film, really appreciate all the help!

The only things on top of the LCD are the OCA glue, polarizer film, and glass.

Are you sure that’s not glue or the POL film. Your new glass assembly should have the POL.

Thank you for replying to me, finally a reply. I am not sure what it is actually, all I know is that after I removed the glass using the molybdenum wire, I notice that this layer (film) is cut at the side (I can actually flip up the layer/film a little)

So that means that it has to be the polariser film right? Since its not the glue as it is a piece of thing, and also its not the glass itself?

The polariser film is a separate thing from the glass itself correct? So if my package inside only has a glass, that means it did not came with polariser correct?

Yes the POL film needs to be removed. It’s a separate layer. You can use a razor blade to carefully remove it with heat.

If it didn’t come with a new POL film you need to get one, laminate the film onto the LCD, then laminate the glass onto the LCD+POL.
