My 6s just turned 2 years old and it's still a great phone, does everything I need and performance is still good. My contract is up in September and I will probably upgrade because with our carrier my rates stay the same and if I buy a new phone the monthly cost stays the same, otherwise I would just keep using the 6s. I'm hoping the 8 is still available in September as that is what I would upgrade to because I like touch ID.

Last I checked, there are still several major carriers that are selling the 6S new on their website, it’s not available in store, but you can still purchase it, which I still think is a great buy for 2019, given the A9 processor is very efficient.

The 6s is a workhorse and iOS 12 made it feel silky smooth for an older device. I only upgraded because 64g was insufficient for my music collection. Should be good for at least a few more years.

The lack of that incredible bionic processor really hurts the iPhone 6s in 2019. I don't advise anyone still uses a 6s today.
How does it hurt it? It certainly makes newer devices better in various ways, as it usually the case, but I'm not sure how it goes back to hurt other devices, or why using a 6s today is inadvisable, essentially simply because it doesn't have the latest hardware.

what exactly im missing with 6s+? i havent noticed that the phone is missing something i would need on everyday usage.

The 6s Plus is still a completely viable iPhone. The A9 processor is more than capable with iOS 12, and even the 2 GB is more than sufficient. Certain carriers are still selling this particular model factory new, and I still would recommend it today.

I still use the 6S and it's alright. I thought really hard about upgrading to the XS Max, but decided to hold onto it until it breaks or is no longer supported. It's working just fine and I felt like it would be a greedy decision to upgrade when the thing is working without problems.

If I were on the market for a new phone, I don't think I would pick it at all, though. There are just many better phones out there now. You can get a 2nd hand iPhone 8 for maybe a little more money. The 8 will have a few extra years of iOS support and will have a better camera an wireless charging. Only thing missing is the headphone jack, which really sucks.
