So I checked mails on my fully charged 6S plus this morning......left it on the kitchen counter. Went back to check an hour later.....phone is dead...NOTHING....won't power on wont reset won't charge......but this is the weird part........the home button is REALLY hot?? Almost too hot to touch??? A short circuit maybe or a fault with the switch itself??? Not impressed I've only had it since Monday!!!

Thanks! Just found the thread on the Apple support forums and it seems there are many people having the same issue!!! I hope it's fixable - this is very worrying - I worry that mine could almost have started a fire it was so hot!!

Let the home button cool down a bit. An easy fix is simply press the home button and the power button (side) at the same time for a long time until the apple logo appears. This happened to my iPod touch (latest generation) when it was in iOS 8. Ended up doing the power and home button to get it back to work.

What did Apple say about it?

Sounds like you got a Samsung unit. I'd take that crud back for a tsmc.

I'd like to see pics of this red hot button, I've never seen it before.

Does it go hot all the time, or just certain time?

Just take it back to Apple and exchange it.
