There seems to be lots of conflicting information out there regarding the 6s shutdown problems, and whether a battery replacement will truly solve it. My famly has three launch day 6s phones, all three have the affected serial number (QF), and all three have the shutdown problem. It doesn't seem worth the hassle to bring in three phones if it's not a sure thing.

Did it help you?

At the iPhone hacks section.
My friend has the same issue with his iPhone 6 shutting down around 30-40% and won't turn on unless it's plugged in to charge.
They wouldn't replace his battery for free since it's out of warranty.
They wanted $70 but it seems like an issue that Apple should be taken care off.

But you wouldn't truly know if it's not the battery replacement that wouldn't solve he issue, unless you take advantage of the repair program. Then after you have the battery replaced, if you still are experiencing issues, then That's when you could consider it may be another issue through the process of elimination.

Seems logical right, I mean you can't guess what will solve the issue...
