I’m not sure if others have noticed terrible battery life with the new iOS?

I’ve not been curious about the changes so I haven’t been using it more....

I did an OTA if that makes any difference...

I noticed a little bit more drain on my 6s plus after iOS 11 upgrade but checking the battery age it is at 84% so its hard to say if its just iOS 11 alone or not. This phone will be going to my oldest son with my upgrade to the 8 plus, so I am thinking a battery replacement will be in order and hopefully that, along with a few updates to iOS 11, will correct the battery life on the 6s plus and restore it back to a phone that doesn't need to be plugged in a few times per day to top off to make it to end of the day.

I too noticed some increase battery drain on my 6s plus. I also noticed the phone now lags a little when going from portrait to landscape mode and the screen sometimes does not rotate when I flip the phone. It is a little annoying to be honest.

I actually had to replace my 6+ Battery 2 weeks ago - bulging battery so I had to..unless I wanted it exploding in my pocket. Lousy timing since I was planning to upgrade. THEN again 8 days ago when that replacement was a fail. I replaced THAT with a brand new Apple OEM battery.

But yeah, even this new battery on the aged device took a hit! Lot of features on this seems heavy on RAM which makes the older phone feel warmer and strains the battery, the phone lags, opening apps take more time also. Just taking video or even exploring the new Maps in 3d view on it would drop the % by 4, 5 % within a few minutes.

Anybody considering downgrading to iOS 10 while it's still possible? I've thought of doing this, combined with a battery replacement at the Apple Store, to make my phone feasible until this time next year.

i have terrible drainage on my 6S+
never had this drastic change,
i can even "catch" the battery level suddenly go down 3-4 % in 10 seconds.
luckily am not a power user so i can live with it until an update.
(did all the tweaking and hard reset etc)

I had some poor performance with an iPhone 6S plus 128gb but after a reset (power and home) it's fast and smooth with no app crashing that I did have. Not noticed anything battery related yet.

A good tip from an IT worker (me): never do an OTA update, particularly a major OS update, use iTunes and ideally set up as new phone.

All I've done is OTA updates from ios7 onwards. I've never had a single problem with any of them.
I would second @Hicksmat1976 recommendation.

Even if OTA has been okay to do it's probably a better way to do it via iTunes. Let iTunes deal with everything that needs to be moved around/upgraded instead of your phone.

Just tried to downgrade to 10.3.3 and got error (6) in iTunes, so I'm going back to 11 as there's no alternative without a DFU restore. Not prepared to start from scratch so I'll see how it goes when I get the battery replaced next week.

I had no issue with my iPhone 6s Plus.

I believe some battery drain is to be expected at first with all the behind the scenes processing and indexing etc.

Regardless, I do recommend to do a full reset for those suffering from bad performance on iOS 11 and perhaps it might even be appropriate to calibrate the battery as well by running it down and charging it back up to 100%.

6splus set up as new using iPsw and the battery is horrendous. Might be a rogue app we all have installed. I can’t go back to iOS 10 as my watch is now on os 4 , annoying! But yeah it’s shocking last half as long
