What do you have on? Try switching off background data and if you are on wifi switch off data. It's makes a good difference and switch wifi off when you are using data out and about

Mine currently on pure wifi with data switched off

Couldn't a lot of the difference be that I played a decent amount of heavy graphical games?

Background app refresh is already off

This is on my 6S Plus.

Taken off charge Monday evening at about 23:45.

Took this screenshot last night. This was as soon as it had powered back on. (Left it till it switched off before plugging into power)

This was with Wifi Assist off, but Background App Refresh on.

Low Power mode enabled at 12%

Holy crap that's insane. I don't get anything near that and I've switched background app refresh off for some apps.

Well... I've calibrated properly and coconut reports max charge 2734 mAh (design capacity 2725 mAh) so there's nothing wrong with the battery, and I've done some optimization with regards to background services etc, but I'm rather underwhelmed. I went for the Plus primarily because everyone was raving over the battery life. "OMG it's INSANE, you can go for TWO BILLION YEARS on a single charge! Forget the 6s, get the 6s Plus!!!"

Really? OK, because my two year old 5s w/ 94% battery health after 344 loadcycles (1463 mAh, design capacity 1550) runs just as long on a charge with mixed use as the 6s Plus does. So much for the amazing battery life. Maybe you get better standby and talk times, wouldn't know this soon - but as soon as the screen is involved, it seems that predatory power gluttony kicks in. "Oh, you actually want to SEE what's going on? OK, suit yourself, you've been warned". "But what if I set the brightness so low that I can barely see anything? Pretty please?" "Sorry dude, won't help. I want it all and I'm going to devour it."

I naively thought that if I'd put up with lugging this behemoth around, I'd be able to recharge every other day or so rather than daily, like I do with my iPads. Clearly that's not happening. Same recharging frequency, but it takes way longer b/c of the wimpy 5w charger included. Major buzzkill.

You're doing something wrong. The 6S+ should absolutely smoke your old 5S. Dodgy backup installed?

Nope, I started clean. Plugged in charger while installing my usual apps. Let it charge overnight. Let the first charge drain. Recharged. Disabled WiFi assist and various background refresh stuff. Capacity is 2734 mAh (100.3%).

I've set everything up so it's pretty much identical to the 5s in terms of apps and services, and they both behave the same... i.e. they lose ≈1%/hr when in standby mode. Considering the 6S+ is supposed to deliver 60% longer standby time, that's unacceptable.

The example that posted above showed 92 hrs standby / 12 hrs usage isn't happening in a million years - at best I could have maybe 90+ hrs standby OR a few hours of usage, meaning it's roughly on par with my 2013 5s.

Well it's faulty then. You should consistently be getting 9-12 hours of usage time from a 6S+. Only absolutely caning the battery using GPS and playing games would make it drain faster than that.

I'm not impressed with mine so far. A full charge takes 3-4 hours which I don't think is right? It's better than my old 6 but not overwhelmingly that much better. It gets me through the day - I've only had it 2 days and fully charged it twice maybe - I'm thinking it might get better with a few charge cycles. (Samsung model)

did you go from the 6 to the 6S or the 6S Plus?, sorry it wasn't clear. like for like it is supposed to be the same as last generation in regards to battery life but if you up sized something really isn't right there.

I've got the 6S plus and have only managed to get it to just over 50% battery after 24 hours with pretty heavy non gaming usage with at least 5ish hours of screen on time. mine also has the Samsung chip and I've also only had mine for a few days :)

I went from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6S+ - for a full charge how long doe yours take? I've tried different cable/plug combinations 5W/10W and it take around 3-4 hours for a full charge!

sorry just noticed this is the 6 plus thread, not the general one so obviously you have the plus, my bad.

honestly I haven't drained by battery below 50% and I've only plugged it into my MBP so haven't got any personal experience I'm afraid, looking online around 3 hours seems to be the norm without using the device during charging and about half of that if you are using a iPad charger if that's any help

This looks about right. It's also very close to what I get so either we both have terrible battery life or it's about normal :)

Have you posted a screenshot of what's chewing up your battery?

My 6+ took around 4 hours to charge and so does my 6S+. It's a big battery;)

Games and Safari, the two biggest battery killers are at the top of your list. Your usage stats are actually pretty damned good considering, wouldn't you think? Try doing that on another phone and see how long the battery lasts.
