The top edge of my iPhone 6S Plus screen doesn't look straight. It looks like the light is uneven or it has a drop shadow on it. It's bleeding shadows. It looks like the pixels are not on the screen and there's space between the glass and pixels. It's only the top edge.

The screen feels like there's a bulge in the middle, but the phone isn't bent.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Care to share a pic? I get lost reading all of these screen issues in these threads this might help others see exactly what you are talking about. Its an LCD screen...they are far from perfect

I don't have a camera with me at the moment. It just looks like there's a drop shadow on the top edge or a slight vignette effect on top.

I found a similar thread. It looks like this.
OK here's a photo. My iPhone 6 Plus screen compared side by side does not have this issue as compared to the 6S Plus. The more I look at it the more I think it probably needs replacing.View attachment 589322

People say that on here about LCD screens but I've only ever had a poor screen on an Apple product, never from anyone else.:D

I just opened my 64GB SG 6S+ and noticed the uneven shadow on the top edge. It gives the impression that the bezel is floating above the screen. It's subtle but I noticed it the instant I powered the phone on.

Yea the extent of it will probably differ too by how high/low you have the brightness. It is probably only really noticeable when something white or light colored is up on the screen but none the less it is annoying especially since you just opened it up.

Amen to all this. All of the iPhone 6s and Pluses screens I've seen (over 12 in total) all have at least one of these issues:
  1. Dark corners.
  2. Blemish at the bottom left hand corner.
  3. Yellow to Blue colour temperature shift.
  4. Blue edges around the edge of the screen - usually more prevalent on the right edge.

My iPhone 6s suffers from #1, #3 & #4
My iPhone 6s Plus suffers from #4
My family's 4 iPhone 6s Pluses all suffer #4

As more and more stores around me seem to be having more stock available when reservations start at 8 am I am half tempted to exchange mine for another. On the other hand, the new device will more than likely encounter the same problems as you listed above and the possibility of something else in addition. Its always a crapshoot when it comes to playing the exchange or replacement (out of 14 day window) game. Not sure I feel like going there when the end result will probably be the same as it is now or worse. Its funny on here you could go through tons of threads of people complaining and pointing out things wrong yet Apple keeps them coming back and gaining more customers every year.

I have yet to see an iPhone 6 S Plus without the top shadows or the shadow on the bottom left. I have seen about 10 (from friends and family). I'm thinking its a negative trade-off of the force touch screen. Oh well...

Yes I agree - and yet the display issues never get picked up in the Media. I know why too, 99% of people don't see the defects or if they do, they don't care about it.

But then again, 99% didn't experience / don't care about iPhone 6's bending or whether they got a Samsung or TMSC
CPU in their S but that again hit the headlines.

Go figure.

I guess I'm really lucky because the 6S plus I have the screen looks just fine. Unless I'm the 99% that doesn't
see it. I guess I would need a magnify glass to see it.

Really pleased for you. No offence intended but I would hazard a guess and say it does have issues, you [luckily] just don't see them.

Not offended. I did say I'm probably the 99% that doesn't see it. If that's the case, then you guys are looking way
to close and you will never find the perfect 6s+ screen. Have you guys considered getting a Samsung S6 or Note 5.
They might have perfect amoled screens.

I'm reading this very forum on my 6S+ and as my eyes move left to right across the sentences, the temperature (colour) of the white background shifts from a bright white to a mudder bluey white. Its distracting and annoying. I don't have to look for it - its there. And its there on 11 of the 12 S's I've looked at over this past week.

I'm not looking at the screen in any special way. Its just there.

Do you keep your screen on a bright setting?

+1. I have seen about 30 and still haven't seen one that's perfect.

Do you keep your screen on a bright setting?

During the day and in the office where its bright, the screen is at about 50-60% brightness. At home around 20-30% - funnily enough the screen issues are less evidence at home.

One thing I have noticed is that the temperature of the light exacerbates the issues. Under fluorescent lighting in an office, the blue edge of the screen is a lot more visible than at home under incandescent lighting.

I hope this isn't solely a result of a feature that I never use and quite frankly don't really care for. I'd take a better screen any day. At least now until things are more optimized for it.

Yes I have this also but don't notice unless I look for it... Now I keep looking at it

every 6s plus has this problem... just varies how severe they look. it's not noticeable looking at it face down. but if you look at it at an angle you will see the shadow bleed. mines from the upper left in between the carrier logo and the time. I exchanged it and I got a better one.. the replacement had it but super slight and I know its still there. I'll take it!!!

My 6s suffer from the same wavy shadows on the top edge, but it's only visible when it's on a white background. I noticed it since day one when checking the device at the store but decided to stick with it

I have been annoyed by the 6s backlight problems since the phone came out. I noticed a super-faint waviness on the top of mine and light source bleeding from the top when the screen is looked at from a very low angle.

I don't want to try replacing it yet because I haven't been able to find any iPhone 6s without the same issue. Actually, every other device I've seen is worse than my own, especially Apple's kiosk models.

I have the same wavy bleeding on the top as you all. What about the bottom edge? I have bright light and shadow as well but it's all across the bottom again visible at a low angle. Is that similar to everyone else? This is mostly visible in white backgrounds.
Should I try to exchange or is this the norm?
