iPhone 6(S)/Plus iPhone 6s Plus muffled voice

Hi all,

My Dad uses a iPhone 6s Plus and his voice is very muffled on a voice call. I'm unsure as to whether this is the same case for a FaceTime Audio call. This has been the case since the iPhone was unboxed.

Are there any measures that I can take to improve voice quality?

Very likely the mic has been faulty since Day 1. Have a Genius take a look at it.
