iPhone 6S Plus or OnePlus Two?

I know both phones have not been released, but the specs are pretty much known, I think. There are hardly any surprises on the hardware side these days anyway.

I have been an iPhone guy since 2009. I have had the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5. I got the iPhone 6 Plus but returned it within the 30 days because I do a lot of multi-tasking on my iPhone (posting on forums and stuff) and the 1GB of RAM and the Safari tab reloading was a deal breaker for me. Fast forward a year and we are coming up on the iPhone 6S Plus and the OnePlus Two launch.

The 64GB iPhone 6S Plus will be $849 vs the OnePlus Two will probably be $399 or $449. I usually keep the phone for two years and $400-$450 difference is not trivial. I mostly use the phone for web surfing, streaming Netflix and taking lots of pictures, both indoors and outdoors (a good camera is very important for me). Just wondering, if any of you have had experience with the OnePlus One and their new OxygenOS? Did the OnePlus One take good pictures? How does it's camera compare with the iPhone? Can it snap pictures as quickly and easily as the iPhone? I appreciate all thoughts and feedback.

Im sure the O+O took good pics but be realistic, no way will it match the iphone 6/6s in camera. But it is also a lot more expensive, is the price difference worth it to you? With the left over you could get a really nice camera that would be better than either

Given the general consensus is One Plus Two will be a little more 'premium' and carry an increased price. The company has to start making a profit to be sustainable. That the current thought is the One Plus Two will be $450-500 - I would wait and see what Moto do with the Moto X 2015 if you want a stock experience but with a more reliable service record and support infrastructure. It's likely to be around similar pricing $500

As for iPhone 6s / 7. We only have speculation what it will bring to the table the question is do you want iOS or android more than the hardware question.

How are you locked into using iTunes ?

You can activate on your device. You can download other music apps like google play music. You can use Kindle / Google Play Books / Barnes & Noble for books, Google Movies or other services like Sky, Flixster to get your digital movies.

You don't actually need to use iTunes app at all if you don't want to either on the device or on your computer. :)

I only had to use iTunes when I wanted to move to the iOS 9 beta. Beyond that, everything can be done without iTunes. Even backing things up can be done with iCloud.

For sure the OnePlus Two over a 6 Plus any day of the week.

The battery life on the Two should be great. It's a million times more open and customizable OS. It runs a near stock like Android, which IMO vanilla is the best. Design wise it shouid look pretty cool, and actually be smaller than the 6 Plus, while having same size 5.5" screen.

I see zero reason to get a iPhone 6 Plus, or any iPhone at all

If my my choices are the OPO2 or IP6s then the choice is easy. I would take the IP6s. First thing is i could go into any Apple store or carrier store and pick up a IP. Cannot say the same about the OPO2 given last years "invite" system. That dilemma exists before I even get into matching features. Just the pure availability fact. How long and how many hoops to jump through before i could get my hands on a OPO2?

Nobody knows yet as far as I know but they certainly can't be stupid enough to do the invite thing again.

Well that's a good thing. Like I said I haven't had an iPhone since 2010 and I hated iTunes so that is a plus. Now they have other things to work on before I'm interested.

agreed :) But I am not sure they have the capacity to handle the initial demand for the OPO2. But I guess its a good position to be in huh? People want your product so much you can't handle the demand.

"We're committed to maintaining razor-thin margins in order to give as much value as possible back to our users, and this drastically increases our risk. The OnePlus 2 will bring the challenges that come along with a brand new product, and initially, our invite system will help us to manage that risk. It also helps us to be sure that every OnePlus 2 user gets the amazing experience that they deserve," the company said.

Given a choice between just those two and the rumors of the 6S Plus(more ram, multitasking, increased megapixel camera etc).. I'd get the 6S Plus.

I would imagine it's about what you value. 1plus two will be cheaper, yet still offer a good/great experience I'm sure. The 6s plus will be an iPhone. More ram should quell a lot of users issues hopefully, as well as if it has better multitasking. Service/support would be better and things like resale would be higher.

Xiaomi no contest. The One plus two will be probably some cheap plastic build.

Xiaomi Mi Note specs:
Snapdragon 801
5.7 inch 1080P
3GB
16/64GB options
13 megapixels rear camera
4 megapixels front camera

370-450 dollar

Xiaomi Mi Note pro specs:
Snapdragon 810
5.7 inch 1440P
4GB
64GB
13 megapixels rear camera
4 megapixels front camera

500 dollar

I don't know, I'm just not real indicisive. If I'm choosing something, I'll take my time and do research and play around with different phones before choosing but its too expensive to be switching back and forth imo.
I'm not a channel flipper. My Wife is and it drives me nuts. Same with the radio.
I'll check for the most desirable shows and when i decide, that's it. I stay on that channel.
Same with phones until something makes me switch.
So far, Android for me is far better but i havent switched a bunch of Android phones all the time. When I decide, I buy it and that's it, unless it really sucks. So far I haven't had that issue.
