I heard from one person that she said never buys the S models because there are always problems with sound and the speakers. So they only buy the number cycle iPhone

Using the B&W C5 S2's haven't noticed any buzzing sounds yet on the 6S+, have attempted to match the ways mentioned in thread and videos posted.

Hopefully it is not an innate hardware defect.

I'm using BOSE QC20i earbuds and I didn't hear anything, however I did hear the buzzing noise in the videos. I'm good, my 6s Plus still works for ME. BEST smartphone I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

Edit; when I turned on the BOSE QC20i earbuds noise cancelling feature, I did hear a buzz, but I think it's supposed to do that if no music is playing or when I'm not on the phone.

The Apple Store (physical, not online) won't allow me to exchange my iPhone for a new one while I'm still in my 2 week period. They say the fault is my €1000 IEM because they can't hear it with their ****** Apple Earbuds o_O

They didn't even measure my iPhone with graphs to see what is going on. Somehow they think that listening with Apple Earbuds is the most scientific and reliable way to asses the sound quality.

They should be called Apple dumbasses instead of Apple geniuses.

Trying to get a refund now and I'll
never deal with a physical Apple Store again. The Apple online store gave me exchanges without problems in the past. Guess I should have stayed with the online Apple store :p
Really?

Just return it. Then buy another one in a new transaction - hence another 2 week trial period. Not sure where you live but if you have several Apple stores near you, just go to another location to buy another one if they make a fuss. The units have been more widely available this past week. I don't advocate returning units for different colors, chips etc. But if you really feel your phone is not up to par you are entitled to return for your money back.

It might depend on which iPhone 6s you have. I'm trying a Samsung iPhone 6s without it being plugged in to a lightning connector on iOS 9.1. Capacity: 64GB, Factory: FK, Production week: 40 (October) (pulled from serial number) It's also a Sim-Free model just to take out any variables since someone mentioned airplane-mode.

My current IEM's are some Ultimate Ears Tripple-Fi's (triple armature) that I had re-molded into IEM's:
Input Sensitivity - 117dB/mW; Impedance - 32 ohms
Frequency - Response 10 to 17,000 Hz

I tried to get myself into as quiet a place as possible, and I couldn't reproduce the app-switching sound.

Sound is perfect on my 6S+
Sounds like from all your posts you got a perfect unit bro. Mind sharing it? Swapsies?

Dodgy units don't exist right? Everyone with an issue with their iphone is just spouting nonsensical crap so you won't mind putting your iphone where your mouth is right?

anyone who owns an Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headset hears these buzzes on the Iphone 6s/ 6s Plus?

I'd severely doubt that they are sensitive enough to pick up the noise as they are full-sized headphones rather than the dual-armature headphones that seem to be required. (Which I couldn't hear anyways in mine) The ATH m50x requires a higher volume to start sounding loud than these ultra-sensitive earphones, and an electrical sound like this usually doesn't scale with volume. As with any device defects though, your mileage may vary.

Plenty of people on these forums state that they only ever buy the 'S' models because they iron out the issues the previous phones had. It seems like six of one and half a dozen of the other. Each new phone has its problems and for sure, my 6+ sounded better than my 6S+. I expected zero differences in the sound area and I'm surprised that Apple tinkered with it.

I agree, I usually always jump in on the S release but this year I decided to hold off (got stung with the iPad Air 2 screen flexing issue). Still a bit undecided after reading this forum, maybe come January I'll get on board.

I remember when the iPhone 5 was originally released, apple marketing was selling the 5 magnet design of the inbuilt speaker as a revolution in design. HAHAH.. Ok, maybe not a revolution but you get the drift, agree again, why would Apple screw with something that had already nailed in a previous generation.

I can hear it with the AKG 3003i. It does NOT change with volume setting. So in other words, if you turn the volume right down on the phone, you can focus on the noise. But I probably would not have paid attention at normal listening volumes. It isn't really a buzzing. It is more of a "sssshhhh" noise. I would hazard a guess, that this is interference from the new A9 chip rather than a change of design on the headphone circuit. It isn't great...but as an audiophile I have my Sony ZX2 for my top-end listening anyway.

Pretty much Apple is losing patience on those "greedy" customers chasing after the top level quality of their devices, especially such an expensive device.

I think when time goes on, Apple will try to block those users from swapping a new device without charge due to such issues. The Samsung chip issue, for example.

And by the way, my iPhone 6 Plus does not have such issue although my earphone only worths $20. ;)

And always, take good care on the device at your hand. Any protection/warranty does mean nothing for damage. You can hardly recover to previous condition if you are injured, unless such injury is subtle enough. :p

I got the same problem with my Shure SE215's. So you don't have to have a high-end gear to hear this.

Can't hear any buzzing etc. and have checked my 6S+ and my wife's 6S each with AKG K550's, Sony XBA-A2's, Apple EarPods, and Apple In-Ear Headphones.

I think that impedance has something to do with this "hssss" , and it disappears with the dac or amp because of that.

I've only just heard about this issue. I've not experienced any problems with buzzing on my device (6S) that I got on release day, and been using the Shure 535s all along.
