I'm sure this question is deep in the forums somewhere, but I just need another opinion.

My phone is awesome and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Love the color, love the size (6s+), I love everything (I even love my TSMC chip ;)). This isn't a thread to complain up and down about the phone, don't worry.

Whenever my phone vibrates, it seems to "rattle", almost like something inside is loose/a screw fell out. I thought it may have been my case, but even when the case is off, it still happens. The only time that you don't hear the rattle is if it's in my pocket, bag, or gripped in my hand pretty tight. Otherwise, if I'm just holding it and reading something while the phone is vibrating, you hear a loud vibrate. Even someone on the other end of the room can hear it "rattle".

This isn't a huge problem to me, but it is pretty annoying after awhile. If I need to go to Apple for a replacement (even though I'm past the 14 day window), I'm afraid that I'll get a defect...kind of like trading a problem for another problem.

I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem as well and if a solution has been found that doesn't require a replacement. Again, I don't want this thread to come off as a giant rant about my awful phone. I love my phone (as stated at the beginning) - I didn't wait 2 weeks for nothing ;)

This seems to be "normal" depending on the type of vibrate. It isn't anything in the phone itself it seems. I think it is the new haptic engine thing.

I am somewhat experiencing this as well, but only when the vibrating sequence begins. It's almost like the phone vibrates when the Taptic Engine is starting up, but once it gets into rhythm, it's all good. I totally just pulled that out of my ass so don't shoot me down, just a thought.

It is annoying. I use to not really hear my iPhone vibrate when it was resting on a hard surface. I always have my phone on vibrate.

You're kidding? They've always made an awful vibrating noise and especially when laid on a hard surface. I've always considered the vibrate feature a joke because it isn't silent at all. Never has been. People can hear the vibration just as much as they can hear an alert tone.

After reading about this, I checked my wife's Pink 6S Plus. Yes indeed it's a cheap sounding buzz/rattle type noise.

Since there's four Apple Stores not far from my house, I'll make a genius appt and see what Apple says. If this was my phone it would be very annoying.

(My iPhone 6 Plus vibrates with a proper sounding alert. No rattle/buzz sound)

It seems is just the way the phone vibrate is so going to the store seems like a waste of time.

I never use the vibrate feature but I've just tried it on my 6S+ and it isn't a rattling, nasty vibrate. Just sounds like any other I've ever heard.

No I'm not. It's considerable louder than previous iPhone models.

I meant are you kidding that you could barely hear your previous iPhone vibrating on a hard surface. Some may be louder than others but I have never come across a silent vibrate. They all involve some kind of motor buzzing away.

I guess for clarification (may not be clean) previous iPhones would vibrate. This new phone vibrates and makes a distinct sound. Like the first time it "vibrated" I looked down thinking the volume was on. :)

Mine is quite subdued. Definitely less 'buzzy' than most phones I've heard. You can still hear it more than you can feel it though.

I had the same issue occur with my 6s after just having it for a week, I took it to the Apple Store and they gave me a brand new one, the genius bar rep told me that it was the Taptic engine that had gone bad, so in your case I don't know if it could simply stop working if you don't get the phone replaced

They don't sound to be infused with longevity then.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about, my Taptic Engine is dead silent. It's actually impressively silent, much quieter than any other iPhone which I always thought were ridiculously loud.

Dead silent, impressively silent, or much quieter than any other iPhone...which is it?:D

I have the same issue with you. My 6s plus definitely has something off when it comes to vibration. I feel very loose and cheap/rattling noise. I compared my phone with my other 6s plus and i can feel the difference. Im still debating whether to return the phone and get a new one or not:(
