iPhone 6S screen replacement?

How long do you suppose it will be before Apple stores have the parts to replace 6S screens? Mine has a few annoying backlighting shadows at the top - like the screen is uneven/wavy at the top left corner. The rest of the phone is fine, and I'd rather not take my chances on getting some other defect.

I actually have the same defect that you're having but I consider it too minor to go through the lottery game. I have a feeling that the uneven backlight is pretty common as I've seen a few users mention it here and there. Mine is not very visible unless its on a white background especially when the brightness is turned down. On brighter settings its less visible unless I look for it.

Anyway, back to your question, I think you will be able to get a replacement if you find it too annoying right now. I believe they have screen replacement for the device already as there was a user who cracked his 6s Plus on the first day and ended up having to pay for the replacement of the screen.

yep, my original and replacement both have had this ...figure must be normal esp since lots of people here have...maybe at this point after holidays ill do another replacement and see if any better

I was debating just waiting until after the holidays as well. I don't know why Apple can't figure out how to consistently manufacture even backlight on their devices. No other tech company I know of has quality control as shoddy as theirs.

Apple does not sell parts through any third party sites. Especially a scary site like that!!

Oh, I can name a few. Samsung for one. With as many iPhones that are produced every day, I can see how there would be a few QC issues with them. I think Apple knows this and is the reason why they are so good about swapping them out so easily.

Just as Marketing companies do, scale that ratio up and that's a lot of phones out there in the wild with screen issues. Most people just don't see them / care.

Ever seen a HTC or LG up close? Colors are horrible, screen ms are very blue. Ridiculous uneven screens.

Apple's screens are never perfect, but still best in industry. If you want perfection, you won't get it with mass manufactured items. Not in 2015, at least. Perhaps in 5-10 years.

Same with me. A buddy said he screen is perfect, he got lucky. I used his phone for 30 seconds, noticed uneven brightness, dark patches, etc. Of course I told him he got lucky and has a perfect display. No need to make him uncomfortable if he's happy... Guess everyone has a different tolerance level.

There are some who are so stressed that there could be something wrong with their device that it consumes them. Nothing can be said or done to convince them otherwise.

Humans come in a very wide spectrum.

The funny thing is that my wife always gets nearly perfect screens. Her iPhone 6S is about as perfect of a screen as I've ever seen. Even lighting, great color... it makes me hate my phone even more! haha. I usually just leave my phone in the other room now, and use my laptop for everything and only pick up my phone when I absolutely have to. The plus side is that I'm getting like 4-5 day battery life.
