So my Touch ID worked flawless from launch until this past Thursday.

Since Thursday evening it seems to only work 75% of the time. Phone has never been dropped, I have reset all the finger prints and it's consistent across all.

Any ideas?

I've noticed Touch ID is slow now. In my family we have 4 6S on 9.0.2 and the touch ID unlocks at the exact speed as my old 5S.

I guess the update made it slower.

Few things to keep in mind. The finger print scanner can get dirty. After you use it for a week or so it will build up a film from the oils on your finger. If your the only one using the phone it actually helps it for a little bit as the print is still kind of there. But after a week or more you may need to wipe it down.

Ensure that there are NO scratches on the Touch Id sapphire covering.

When it works it's almost instant way faster then the 5S.

No scratches and I keep it clean.

Haven't noticed any issues so far, is scarily fast that I often try to see if I can push the button with a registered finger but without unlocking the phone

Mine is ridiculously fast, to the point where I get annoyed at my Air 2 for taking such a long time to unlock. It's a bit silly how quickly you get used to it.
