Phone is stuck in recovery mode, the apple logo appears but just sits there. I’ve tried forced reset, I’ve connected to iTunes on my pc and tried an update and also a reset, all I get is a pop up saying could not restore, unknown error occurred (9). Any ideas please.

Hi, thanks for that, I’ve just tried DFU mode (twice) but it comes back with the same error (9). Thanks for your help though.
Have you tried all the usual suspects?

- Update iTunes
- Using a different cable
- Using a different USB port
- Using a different computer

Keep in mind, you want to be running the latest version of iTunes. So, if you have no computers that are capable of running the latest version then you'll need to find a way.

Hi.
Yes, I have tried all of the above, I’ve even fitted a new battery, but whatever I try, it comes up with the same error.

I wonder how do you fit a new battery though.
Have you gone to Apple store? This is kinda weird.

It’s actually quite easy to change the battery, I bought the battery and fitted it myself to save money

Something went wrong when did the battery replacement, now the phone is not booting out of recovery mode. I’m guessing you also use a third-party battery. The Downside with your scenario, is that I don’t know how much Apple would actually be able to even help you with this, given you made the repair yourself.

Well, as mentioned by Relentless Power, at this point your options are a bit limited, given that Apple may outright refuse out-of-warranty repair because of the swapped battery. Maybe some individual mobile phone repair shops could repair your iPhone and get it back to life again, but I have no idea about this.
