iPhone 7 airdrop

My brother and I just got an iPhone 7 each. Although he and I are obviously in each other's contacts, when either of us puts airdrop on to contacts only, we can't see each other's phone. When we put our airdrop to everyone the name says '...'s iphone 7' not what the contact name is like it should do.
Any ideas what's going on here?

Probably icloud issue. I have this issue sometimes with some contacts. Don't think its specific to iphone 7.

Yeah it's very likely iOS 10 more than iPhone 7. I've just noticed it for the first time today that's all

AirDrop when it works is great, but that's not very often.

AirDrop was not working in my replacement iPhone 6 Plus.
Every trick tried, but no use.

So apple service centre in Mumbai, India replaced my phone and then it was working as desired.

My hunch is that it's unlikely a new iPhone 7 has something mechanically wrong that needs replacing

Its unlikely but not impossible.

as I had got a replacement unit after my original 6 plus had a bad screen. The new unit had airdrop issue.

Then after testing, apple service center replaced it again.

Good to know I'll keep an eye on it. Strange it would be on both our phones but cheers. Do you guys have any issues with airdrop on iOS 10 on your devices?

My replacement iPhone 6 Plus didnt have any issues with airdrop on iOS 10.

Also I just got 7 Plus and it also does not have any issue with Airdrop.

This is embarrassing.. I thought I'd tried a network settings reset, I did another one and what do you know it's working
