So this doesn't happen too often, but lately I've been noticing when I open an app, any random one, to go do something, the app crashes, and the screen goes black and has the spinning circle for a second, and then when I'm at the lock screen where I put in my passcode. Not sure what this is or if it's normal.. seems like a software issue they can easily fix but I'm not sure.

That's not normal. Well, the behavior on such a crash is normal, but it shouldn't happen. Especially not frequently. For example, it happened no more than twice in the years I had the 4 and 5s and has happened twice on my 6s+ since I got it.

Make sure the OS and apps are their latest version, perhaps do a fresh phone install and restore from backup to get the apps back and their content?

You could see if you can find the log files under Settings, and find out if all these crashing apps have the same crash issue?

It doesn't happen often, it's maybe every few days or so at a random time. It's more like a springboard crash, but it happens when I launch a random application. I'm pretty sure it's a springboard crash

Default install. No JB. Even if it were a hardware issue though I wouldn't be able to get the phone replaced, nothing else is wrong with it. I'm hoping it's just a software issue they fix in the next update

I recommend to at least try to find the log files for those apps when it crashes, and see if you can narrow down the issue.
It shouldn't crash like that. An App crashing should just 'shut down' and not force a device to think it freezes up and requires a forced restart.

Right, but I really think it's just the springboard getting reset. I don't know why it would be doing a respring when I launch an application though.

I've had a similar issue 2 times since getting my 7 plus. It's a issue in iOS 10 and it always does this a few times when a new iOS comes out. .1 will fix most issues. Also it's more noticeable on the 7 vs the 6s or 6.

Yeah, honestly it doesn't bother me as long as I know it's not something wrong with the phone itself and it can be fixed. That's mainly what I'm worried about lol
