Now that the iPhone 7 Battery case is available in Product Red instead of just black and white I ordered one from the Apple Website. anyone else have any comments on these cases from Apple? I've heard lots of good about it and to a lesser degree bad. Any opinions?

I purchased the black one when I got my iPhone 7 a couple of months ago. I kept it for a week and then returned it.

I think it works very well and is well made... However, I do a lot of gaming on my phone. And when holding the phone in landscape mode, the weight of the phone becomes lobsided since the hump is on only one side. It made gaming kind of awkward.

But if I used my phone only as a phone and internet device and mostly in portrait mode, then I would have kept it.

I can speak to the iPhone 6s version: good battery case, phone slides in and out easily. Downsides are that it is fairly bulky, especially in a front pants pocket, and the silicone of the case means it picks up lint and doesn't slide in and out of pockets easily.

One of the best Apple designs and I really mean it. Had it for iPhone 6, now for iPhone 7.

It picks up some lint but stay smooth after a week of use. The surface of the case for the 7 is slightly different, more smooth, less rubberized than the case for the 6.

I play some games with it in landscape mode and I don't feel anything wrong.

You pursue 3 goals with it:
- extended battery life
- 360 degree shock resistant protection
- grip grip grip!

A true road warrior.

Hi I'm new with the iPhone battery case and had some questions.

I just got it and realized the weight of the case that it's pretty heavy lol . But it helps make the 4.7 iPhone be a lot bigger.

Any tips with the case? Are you supposed to have it on 24/7?

For those that have tried both the 4.7 iPhone with the case and the 5.5 plus...which do you like better?

There isn't really a 'supposed to', but no reason to remove it unless you want to.

Bought the iPhone 7 battery case last month and so far so good! Feels great in the hand and can get me through two days. Headphones work fine and charging both the iPhone and the case simultaneously is great.

I like that the audio is directed towards you so no need to redirect with your hand. However as a result, the sound might be imbalanced, with the bottom (more dominant) speaker overpowering the top/ear speakers unless you compensate in accessibility settings (not worth adjusting imo).

I occasionally remove the case at home when depleted to allow faster charging by itself and keep any heat, if any, away from the iPhone. Even then, there's shouldn't be any concern of battery damage from heat generated when charging both the iPhone and case. I notice most of the heat generated from the case is confined to the bottom of the case where the PCB meets the battery (behind the home button).

The only bug I notice is that the case stops charging when you separate the iPhone from the case while plugged in, which you'd have to unplug/plug back in to resume charging the case itself. It does have some weight and a bit imbalanced holding in landscape mode but it's not an issue for me.
