Just updated to iOS 11. Had 100% battery life. Updated to iOS 11. Battery at 85% - figured it would happen because that's what happens when tech has an update - it relies on battery.

Not even 5 minutes into using the phone, percentage is down to 65%. The lag on the iPhone 7 is terrible. Hell, I will likely now try to see how to get an iPhone 8 just so the battery drain isn't so bad.

The iOS 11 update on the iPad Pro (9.7) is awesome. It's like a whole new experience.

The OS does a lot of heavy lifting the first day or two that you have it. Look at what your battery life is like 3 or 4 days in. If it's still problematic, try doing a backup and wipe of your device....if the problem goes away it's something in your configuration...maybe an app or two with runaway processes causing the drain.

Give it 15 mins for everything to sync up. Then restart it. Then charge it. Then report back.

You're overreacting a little.

Heads up, been on this build for a week, it doesn't improve.

Buddy of mine has been through the betas and GM -- he hasn't had any major issues with the GM, and the battery life issue from the betas was resolved. I normally wait a week before updating, and I updated today because of his success. So far, my phone and battery life seem to be holding up fine.

You need to let it index and cache everything. Give it 24 hours, the battery will stabilize. I've been running it for a week on the 7+ it's great.

Why and what does it have to cache?

I understand the indexing element but what does it need to cache? What’s it fetching that needs cached?

i dont have a problem - I've not updated to iOS11, but the community spirt is getting pretty crappy with the tone of peoples replies and general combative attitude on display all the time whenever a question is asked..

I've heard the same from multiple sources as well as people posting on Facebook early this afternoon. I'll stick with iOS 10.3.3 for the time being.
Yeah. I'd wait too. I've never had a problem with an iOS update... ever. Really disappointed about the battery drain.

Dude.....be patient lol. You aren't even waiting an hour to test it out.

a phone is actually doing more than normal after a major update, a spike in battery loss is normal, I would be more interested in results after a few charge cycles

How is this predictable?

do you start the firmware x.x bricked by PS4 threads over on the playstation forums ?
