iPhone 7 dark color option. Deep blue, Slate, or Space grey?

With the reports and rumors floating around, I wanted to make a topic about what dark color we will or want to see on the iPhone 7 later this year. If there is already a topic about this in particular, feel free to link it here.


So, what would you like to see on the iPhone 7? The popular yet scratch-able Slate color from the iPhone 5, the rumored Deep Blue color, or keep Space Grey?


Personally, I think the deep blue color is ridiculous and definitely shouldn't replace space grey. I would rather have slate from the iPhone 5 instead. Apple purposely replaced slate with space grey to help with scratches, but if Apple fixed the scratching issues and are replacing space grey with a dark color, it should definitely be slate, in most conditions it looks black, but in bright conditions it shows a very very tiny blue tint. It looks really great and contrasts well with it's black glass counter-parts.
I just hope Apple has a way to prevent scratches if they plan to use a dark color.

Most important and will rule my choice is the bezel must be black.

odd man out here, never ever thought the slate/black looked good. looks like any other cheap motorola.

ill take the current space gray, its perfect imo. in fact i never bought a black front phone til the 6 for this reason, when it finally got light enough. look how elegant the space gray looks in the op's pic with the blue rendering, so nice.

I'm always partial to darker colors myself like the iPhone 5, and I absolutely must have a black front. I've never liked the white bezels.

The blue looks cool but I feel like I'd get tired of it quick, kinda like having a case on my phone. I would stick with space grey personally

that deep blue actually looks nice. but if only it had a metal edge like the 5/SE so that I could wrap the back for a makeover when I want a different look.

It's a nice color I'll give you that. I never flat out hated it, but I didn't like it replacing Slate. I owned a 5th gen iPod touch in slate and my goodness it was pretty. Oddly enought that iPod never really scratched at all, and I didn't use a case on it either.

That deep blue color is fine as an option, but it defiantly shouldn't replace anything.

So I'm hearing reports now, saying that the iPhone 7 deep blue color was a myth. I'm going to keep that poll choice Up anyway to see what happens.


Before anyone says anything about Space Black, I'm not including it because it's practically the same as Slate minus the blue tint.

Agreed. I prefer the black bezel so I get space gray. I would prefer slate, or even gold if it had the black bezel.

I would prefer deep blue, but I'll take either, space gray is just too boring at this point. Plus they never made up their mind on what the true shade of "space gray" should be.

No, deep blue is a dark navy blue. Slate is black with a blue tint that is barely noticeable.

I really liked that deep blue mock-up that was floating around and I am generally ambivolent about device coloring.

Space black or slate... Whatever they will call it. Don't like seeing a different color underneath it when scratched but I am fairly careful with my phones anyway. If they have space gray, I might get that one if space black is out of stock. But space black is my #1 choice to hide the rear antenna lines better.
