Hi

I just gotten a new iPhone 7 plus, just 3 day old and didn't apply any screen protector.
At the side of the volume button, the screen there a hairline scratch mark.

Is this default out of the box, will apple replace it?
What should I do to remove it?

I have a tempered glass screen protector and a speck case on my iPhone 7. I do not think a scratch on the front glass is default out of the box otherwise they missed the memo with my phone. If you have AC+ then I think you can use one of the 2 replacements but it will cost.

Was it there when you opened the box? Your post is unclear on that.

If it was it should have been reported day 1 so it could be fixed.

If not why should Apple replace something like that? You took a chance not putting a screen protector on it.

I actually started using screen protectors recently with my iPhone 6 Plus as I noticed that I had a couple of scratches. I got my iPhone 7 Plus and immediately went to Apple and had they apply the Belkin glass screen protector on it. It looks great and it is a one time cost. I know it isn't really necessary but I like to maintain the phones pristine look.

How much does that cost? Is it edge to edge? Could you post a pic? I use tempored glass from Amazon. Thanks.

I have always had screen protectors. The iPhone 7 is my first phone, where i decided not to have a screen protector. The beauty of the screen is lost with any screen protector. I have not had issues with my Apple watch series 0 and now series 2, so it is worth trying with the iPhone 7 too.

It's not edge to edge. I personally love it but it only covers the screen and the area above and below the screen. It does not go beyond the screen on the sides. It actually creates a bit of a rainbow effect on the sides since it fit's just right. Money well spent to me.

It's hella expensive at 39.95. It covers most of the surface but does have a ring around the edges I assume to allow for cases. I mostly spend the money because I have zero talent in getting those things on bubble free and aligned perfectly, Apple has a method that does both which I why I spend the money to do it rather than Amazon 10 - 15 dollar screen protector.

I got a scratch on my 7 Plus within the first week. I used my 6 Plus for 2 years without a screen protector and only had minor scratches on the edges of the glass. This was with a case on it and I never have anything else in my phone pocket. No idea how it would have scratched so easily. I took it in to replace since I was having wifi issues anyway and immediately put a tempered glass screen protector on the new one.

No screen protectors for me. Never scratched one of my iPhone screens. As far as the OP goes 3 days is plenty of time to get that hairline scratch. BUT, if you are within your 14 days you can return it and they will hardly even look.

Hope they have what you want in stock
