There already was Corning's Concore Glass used by Chinese OEMs like Yu Yutophia manufacturered through Sharp for OGS (One Glass Solution) displays against the traditional TFT LCD displays.
JDI is the traditional Apple supplier of LCD displays.
JDI (Japan Display Inc) on the other hand have announced OGS technology as “Pixel Eyes” LCD display modules, which are destined for premium mobile products. JDI’s new display could begin to appear in products within the first half of 2016. The second generation Pixel Eyes LCD is based on JDI’s LTPS technology which is an OGS display designed primarily for common mobile display sizes as well screen sizes as big as 16 inches (future iPad possibilities).
