iPhone 7 freezing for 20secs every hour

I will unlock my phone, click on an app and it won't open or do anything for 20-30 seconds. Then suddenly it will unfreeze and do all the actions i tried to do. e.g. within a split second it will open and close the app and swipe left and right etc.
This has only happened within the last 2-3 weeks which is very odd. Has anyone else experienced this?

Try a hard reset if you haven't. Are you running a lot of applications in the background?

iPhone 7 128gb, 80gb or so free. I don't have many apps. I haven't installed anything recently which is odd.

Owned iOS products since the beginning and forgot about the hard reset. Not very good am I? Thanks for reminding me. I don't run many background apps no. Rather odd
