So I've had the SE for nearly a year and love it as a phone. Really can't fault it. The fault unfortunately lies with me, I'm getting on a bit (rapidly approaching 50) and need reading glasses for a lot of things now.

However I only tend to wear glasses at home, not a vanity thing more a "can't be ****d" so for example after 2 years of having reading glasses, today was the first day I've worn them to read the paper on the train.

So I'm struggling a little bit with the SE now. For most things it's fine, I can zoom for emails etc but entering events etc can be a bind. Would there be a big enough benefit from getting a 7 to make it worth the £700 or so sim free?

Honestly, iOS scales text for all display sizes to be about the same. I found zero difference between my 6 and SE visibility wise (SE is actually easier to read since the display is a bit more yellow). The only solution is to change text size in accessibility settings, though it doesn't work for Safari.

I've got large text set to on.

The 7+ is out. The main driving force for the SE was a smaller phone after my Note 3. Holding a house brick to your ear just doesn't look cool :)

Yeah. I can see that. I went to a 5c from a Note 3. However, I don't talk on the phone much. So for my uses, I needed the bigger device again. YouTube, news, forums, my games, they all are of bigger benefit to me on the 7+.

I think the 7 is a good device too but coming from a 6s, it wasn't enough of a negligible upgrade to myself personally to get it. The camera, RAM, and screen size offered by the 7+ were worth it to me. It made my desire of wanting a jet black phone not seem so silly.

Get better eyeballs OP, lol. The past two-three years I've been using 5.5"+ phones and switched to an SE this past month. For me, everything is easier to do on the smaller phone.

You could always purchase a new iPhone from the Apple Store and return it within two weeks if it doesn't jive with you. That's what I did with the latest 7+, the thing is just monstrous.
