With the release of Apple's iPhone phablet, Apple should lead the market in offering a model that swings the pendulum. For the iPhone 7, offer three sizes: the phablet, the mid-size, and introduce a super-slim, very compact iPhone for those of us who use it primarily as a phone and email device.

If Nokia can do it, surely Apple can. Who wouldn't like an ultra-compact iPhone in this form factor, one you can easily carry in a shirt or front pocket?

Isn't that what iWatch 2 or 3 or 4 will become eventually when it is able to make phone calls etc on its own?

If Apple Watch can do those things, I'll buy one. But I don't think it will happen for many years, if not a decade or more. Battery, radio, and antenna technology isn't there yet.

As it is, hitting the right letters on the keyboard maybe a hit-or-miss. On a sub 3" phone, that will be an absolute disaster.
