The same thing happens to me a lot as well, maybe they will update in 10.1 if its software

Just an update from me as this has happened to me too. Phone got wet and crashed. It standing up against a wall on a wet surface. When it restarted the home button does nothing and Touch ID was disabled. It's stated to work again intermittently after 24hours but I'm sure it's to do with getting wet. Will take to Apple and update

Appointment already set for tomorrow.

Interesting thing is that this was after the phone got wet. Used a wet paper towel to clean the phone off to put on a new case and that was the end. How is this supposed to survive a meter down for a half hour if a wet paper towel did her in. Oh well I'll have a new one tomorrow after a 9 hour restore from backup

9 hour restore from backup?o_O

Do an encrypted backup on iTunes and your backup will only take minutes to restore.
