No offence but you have stated the obvious with that post. Rinse and repeat for iphone 8, 9, 10 , 11.

There is no such thing as an end game for the iphone, Apple make money from hardware, therefore they need to release something new every 2 years that changes the game enough.

The S has to be a little better, its the same design, needs that little edge to get people to buy it.

if you had a Time Machine, you could jump forward 2 years to get one then bring it back here to the Present and be like "hey y'all check out my new i7 rig"...

unless he pre orders from at&t
Then well have it at the same time :)

Funny thing is 2yrs ago, people said the same thing about a 720p and especially a 1080p display on a mobile phone. And it happened. Hell people said the same thing when Apple first introduced the retina display. "OMG, Apple is gonna ruin the battery life and processor is gonna be killed b/c of all dem pixels!!! Apple is doomed!!" The 6+ battery life is phenomenal. Technology progresses on. If the resolution of the 7+ surpasses that of 1080p (which I think it will) I guarantee you the battery life will still be phenomenal and the processor will be able to handle it. We're talking 2016 here.

Well why stop at 4k then? let's eventually ramp it up to 400k (because you can REALLY tell the difference on a 5 inch screen) and keep the battery life at the same ole' 12 hours instead of simply keeping the resolution at 1080p and upping the battery life to 24 - 48 hours!

I'm really holding out for the iPhone 15s. That one is really going to be awesome

400k? Seriously dude? Like I said, when Apple increased resolution of the 4...people claimed it would kill the battery life. And they were wrong. Apple dramaticly increased the resolution of the 6+ and the battery life is phenomenal. I guarantee you that if (and IMO they will) increase the resolution of the 7+ and even 7, the battery life will still be great. And I love the "you can't tell the difference between HD and whatever other display on a 5in display, so the customer doesn't need that" comment. First of all, thank you for telling me that I can't see a difference. I absolutely love when somebody speaks for me. For the record, I can easily see a screen difference between the 6 and the 6+. Which is quite funny b/c I remember when the rumors of Apple giving the iPhone a 1080p display first came out, you had the usual suspects here with their "omg, such a waste...you can't tell the difference between a 1080p an non 1080p display on a small screen....it's gonna kill the battery life" The 6+ compared to the 6, pretty much killed that "fact" You can clearly see a difference between the two phones, in terms of resolution. And funny thing, so can quite a few others who come into my store and look at the two iPhones.

Swear if it was up to some you people, 5 years from now...yall would still be using the same old tired iPhone design and screen resolution from 2008. "Why increase the screen resolution, nobody needs that!" "Why increase the camera and give it 4k recording? Nobody needs that!" "As a matter of fact, take off the 1080p recording and just give the iPhone vga recoding. A 1080p camcorder on a phone is a waste and you can't see any difference on the screen anyway" "Why add more things to iOS, nobody needs that" I mean seriously

Ok, might as well throw my two cents out there:

I think Apple will keep the iPhone at 4.7in and 5.5in but will significantly reduce the bezels.

lol thanks. Yeah I think most of that's prob ideal.

But I gotta say I think they should add a 3rd to that lineup. Just like they offer a 4", 4.7", and 5.5" rt now, I think there is def a market for not so big screens. Something between a 4" and 4.7" would be ideal. For me my iPhone is first and foremost still a phone. If I wanna watch videos or do something more interactive I'll go to the iPad. 4.7" is comfortable but I'd prefer to carry around something a bit smaller. It's more convenient. I use my phone one handed most of the time.

I agree somewhat. I think clearer screens are a natural progression and are def welcome but I don't think they should come at the expense of battery life. I think one should at least be able to go 24 hrs on heavy usage. Like at least 12 hrs of intense use.

Side note on screens: The human eye is so much better than any tech we have so discerning quality is a bit subjective. Just like audio quality is subjective.
