I recently bought an iPhone 7 (jet black) and put it in a Power Support case called the Air Jacket Clear.

However, some patterns are appearingl between the iPhone and the case. See the photo. I'm guessing the pattern is due to skin oil. My previous Power Support cases (on iPhone 3g and 5) did not have this problem. Has anyone else had the same pattern with their clear case?

How do I remove the patterns on the back? Is it simply a matter of drying out skin oil before putting the phone into the case?

Not due to oil but due to the polished surface. From PowerSupport's website:

"
Warning:

We have received several questions about the so called “bubblish effect,” and if we anticipate this problem with our cases on the new Jet Black finish for the Apple 7/7 plus. This is not condensation but rather a strange affect caused by placing an extremely hard, smooth, flat plastic surface on another extremely hard, smooth, flat surface, such as the highly polished anodized aluminum surface of the Jet Black finish. This does not happen on other iPhone surfaces because they are not as smoothly finished. As we said this is not caused by condensation and it does not harm the surface of the iPhone. However you may notice this effect when the case is used on some devices with the Jet Black finish."

Thanks for that information. Do all clear cases on the iPhone 7 Jet Black show the same effect? The Power Support case is made of "poly-carbonate" kind of like a hard plastic, so I wonder if a softer material case would avoid the problem?

Most clear ones will have this issue. If you want a feel and look similar to jet black try out a Peel Jet Black case. I got one and it's very minimal and looks very similar to the jet black. It's only missing the apple logo. :D

Can you post some pics of your case? Is it as fingerprint magnet and how is the grip?

Yep it's a finger print magnet just like the actual back of the phone. Grip is also similar to going caseless with the jet black. Here's pics when I purchased it.

The Switcheasy Iglass case has a glass back on an Aluminum frame with poly inserts for better signal. The glass is held 1mm away from the phones back. The glass is thicker an as hard as any screen protector. Some have had cracks when it falls but with care its a great case and my case of choice for the iPhone 7/7+.a.png
