As mad as I am about swipe to unlock being taken away from us. And the implications that carries this isn't about that.

I see a lot of teens and adults literally listening to a headphone or ear buds and charging at the same time. While this can be accomplished with Bluetooth I for one am glad I can charge and listen to high quality audio via 3.5mm jack on my 9.7 Pro

So that's the missing feature people are over looking that's gonna hit when the iPhone 7 goes on sale.

I've been using a jailbreak tweak called Activator to use my home button to both lock and unlock my iPhone since 2012 with an iPhone 3GS and every model of iPhone/iPad I have had since then.

It's one of the first actions I set up whenever I jailbreak. I'm a convert from an old HTC Touch Pro running WinMo and locking/unlocking that phone was achieved by pressing the home button. So, that's why I do this with my iPhone.

On my iPad I can unlock very quickly with TouchID because my thumb is already on the sensor when I go to unlock.

Apple is just catching up and while you may dislike the demise of slide to unlock I am very happy to see it die.

As for the headphone jack, it's something I thought sooner or later would prevent Apple from achieving the thinness they wanted. It had to go eventually and let's face it - it's 19th century technology.

As far as charging while listening, someone somewhere will make an adapter. That always happens.

Seems like that's more of an iOS 10 type of thing than an iPhone 7 type of thing, and the latest iOS 10 beta providing some additional options in relation to it all.

I can honestly say, that with over 10 years of owning iPods, iPhones and iPads, I have never once plugged into charge while using headphones.

Yes I know that is only me, and quite a few people I know. But I honestly can't see it being that big of a deal, and I'm sure Apple has done enough research to know if it would be harmful or not.

Certainly someone (maybe Apple) would create a pigtail that would separate the charging/data cables?

I'd really like something like that for my iPad/laptop/Duet setup. The laptop doesn't provide a high current USB connection to keep the iPad Pro 12.9 charged. (and I don't feel like carrying around a powered USB hub.

I think I've done it a number of times using a portable battery, but that's mostly it.

"Missing feature no one talks about"?
Seriously?
This has been commented on endlessly here in these Forums
A dozen or so threads about it that keep on appearing for a while now hardly constitutes a discussion. ;)

I have 2 pairs of Bluetooth headphones. I won't be missing tangled cords anytime soon.

i use headphone and plugged in all the time. I use my iPhone for conference calls which often take up most of the day. So I need that ability. I'm sure there will be solutions so the issue will be cost and convenience. I'm not sure bluetooth headphones have the battery life I will need. Again, I'm sure solutions will exist but how convenient and how costly will be the issue

I am betting there will be an adapter to use you current headphones. So it may cost you $10-$20 at most if you do not wish to go wireless.
