I understand your reasoning and you've kept an iPhone longer than I ever have (only had the 5 and 6), but I'm not sure if that's worth the premium of 2700 sek (330 usd). You're also going for the plus models which are ridiculously expensive.

Needless to say, who really knows? I believe phones have already plateaued and that devices such as 6S and beyond should last for a long time without any issues regarding performance, unless Apple releases iOS revisions that run like a heap of **** (which iOS 11 isn't far from). A 24 month plan doesn't take away the total cost, but you might gain some/offset the cost by investing the rest and get the added interest over that 24 month period. Your 8 Plus should have no issues running well in 4 years in terms of the SoC, but I suspect your battery will be shot or reduced in half after 3 years. But maybe a simple battery swap for under 79 usd (800 sek) would be all you'd need.

Oh yeah, iPhones in Sweden are a luxury with a preposterous markup that's completely arbitrary. Thanks Apple, you *******.

Of course it doesn’t take away the cost, but to me it’s a little more justifiable when the diffrence each month equates to the cost of a cup of coffee and a cinnamon bun. It’s such a rare investment for me though, and I don’t really mind spending a little extra when the time comes around.

But it sounds like you’ve got your mind made up, and I’m sure the 7 will fit your needs nicely.

Oh I completely understand where you're coming from. I just feel like this might be the time to vote with your wallet and somehow show that these markups are getting out of hand. Now, I realise the irony of opting for a "lower end" by going for the 7, but anything to hit their asp. Not to mention that it would be bought from a retailer.

I'll probably bounce back and forth like a real jubelidiot before I make up my mind. :p

PS. I've actually wanted that second camera, but the 7 Plus and 8 Plus is just...det tar emot helt enkelt när priserna nått sådana höjder.

I wanted to go bigger screen from SE, so tried both 7 and 8 side by side. I ended up getting 7, as for my use it does everything I need really well and I could not notice any real difference in performance between the two.

Well that's stupid. You gonna regret saving that 150 dollars in the future. Just because you don't notice any real performance now doesn't mean that it won't in the future. iPhone 8 is futureproof, 7 not so much. That and the camera alone should be enough for everyone to not be 'saving' 150 dollars. Which btw you would have lost either way when you resold it in the future. A second hand iPhone 7 is not 150 dollars cheaper than the iPhone 8, it's more.

From a monetary standpoint the iPhone 7 is a far more inferior 'deal' than the 8 is. So you might have saved 150 dollars now, but you will be losing more than that now in the future. Bad economics, but Apple says thank you!

I do not resell my devices, I keep on using them till they stop functioning or pass them on to friends/family. ;)

Which gives you even more reasons to go with the more futureproof phone if you intend to use it for a long while.

I have an iPhone 6 today and plan to buy a new iPhone. I'm not sure what model I want to buy. either an iPhone 7 or iPhone 8.

I do not care about the wireless charging on iPhone 8. I just want a faster iPhone compared to my iPhone 6. What model should I buy?[/QUOT

I have the 6S+ and will keep it , it fast enough the iPhone 8 dont have any thing I need plus I dont like Cinderella glass phone I want metal frame so to answer you question stay with your 6 and spend your money on anther toy such as iPad or if you have too buy the 7

To give you a better idea of what I mean, here is my family’s current idevice lineup, all working their magic:

iPhone 4
iPhone 5C
iPhone 5S
iPhone 6
2 x iPhone 7
iPhone 7+
2 x iPad Air 2

I understand what you are saying about going futureproof, but the way I see it, 8 is just an expensive “last of a kind” phone (home button, bezels, etc.). Not many people will want to buy it once X tech becomes more mainstream = affordable next year. Also, by not buying 8, I might encourage Apple to review their strategy of constantly increasing the prices for their mainstream devices. I personally have no need for wireless charging, all glass body is irrelevant in a case and the camera “improvements” are there with each new model. Just an idea...

Went through the same dilemma and got a 7 256gb product red. Saved $200 over 256gb 8.

I just couldn't justify spending over $900 after taxes for the 8 for minor upgrades. Especially when the phone is still 750p and didn't get 3gb of RAM.
