I cannot decide which iPhone to buy.

The speed is nearly exactly the same and i don‘t need wireless charging. The cameras are also nearly identical.

Selling my old iPhone 6S Plus and buying a used iPhone 7 Plus costs me appr. 170.- EUR.

Stay with the 6S & change next year. I had a 6 & it had slowed down & needed a new battery. I bought an 8 Plus & plan to keep it for 3-4 years. If I had a 6S I would not have changed this year.

I went with a used 7 Plus myself. We can easily sell this for a $100 loss next year, think of it as a $100 rental until we get the 2nd generation iPhone X.

The 8+ camera seems to be a decent amount better in low light and has better saturation. I would get the 8 +.

Speed is not "exactly the same"

Geekbench multi-core scores:
iPhone 7 plus: 5750
iPhone 8 plus: 10132

I don't know if you will notice that in daily usage, I don't think so, unless you use heavy apps or edit 4k 60fps video (which the iPhone 7 can't)

I upgraded from a iPhone 6 to 8+, so for me the difference was huge!

You don‘t feel the speed difference from 6S to 7 or 6S to 8.

iPhone 6 to iPhone 6S was a huge improvement.

I need a new phone because my 6S Plus has problem. At 12% of battery and lower the phone gets extremly slow. Like the processor speed is limit to 10%.

Above 12% of battery or ehen I connect the power adapter the speed is fine. I changed the battery but the issue is still there.

Maybe a defective Tigris.

I would choose the iPhone 7 Plus. It's still a great phone and has shares many capabilities of the iPhone 8 and it sounds like you would be more than content with not having all the latest features and capabilities of the iPhone 8.

I think you answered your own question. I would go with the 7 Plus in Matte Black if I were you. You won't feel a huge difference and the camera upgrade is minimal. If you don't care about wireless charging, the 7 plus is the better buy.

If the jump from a 7 to an 8 was like the 6 to a 6S (A9 was a 70%/90% CPU/GPU bump), I would absolutely positively get the 8.

But since the jump from 7 to an 8 is only 25/30, you'd barely notice any difference in speed. Even the A9 to A10 jump is 40/50 in CPU and GPU.

I would get the 7 Plus, cheaper, same 1080 screen, same 3gb of Ram, you can get 128gb storage for the less than the 8+ 64gb, lot's of colors to choose from, and comes with IOS 10 out of the box. IOS 11 is not so great right now.

I disagree....definitely felt a speed boost from the 6s+ to the 8+. I don’t know if it was the faster cpu or the extra gig of ram but it was noticeable

Does the 7plus have the dual speakers?

Yes

I bought the 7 Plus. I love the new home button and the improved Taptic engine and the faster camera auto focus.

Right descision to buy the 7. I love it. :apple:

The 8+ is overall a nice improvement.
The speakers on it are much better than the 7+, like the 7+ is garbage compared to the new speakers on the 8+.
The camera on the 8+ is much better at low light pictures.
The A11 is fast but so is the A10.

I like the 8+ but it depends how long you want to keep it. The 8+ will be a power house for several years.

Good choice. The 7 Plus was a great phone for me and I didn't see any reason to go to the 8 Plus. Really good value right now.

Awesome choice, I'm getting my 7 today. If you decide to flip it next year, you're looking at a minimal out of pocket cost since you bought it used. And if you think about it, just a few months ago in the summer this was the FASTEST iPhone on the planet.
