iPhone 7 PLUS 2x Zooming issue

Took my iPhone 7 PLUS to Sea World today and used the zoom feature for 1st time.

Tried multiple lighting conditons and can't get a focused image.

Probably a faulty camera issue and will take to Apple store next week.

I have provided a couple of examples.

Anyone else having this issue ?

Thanks for the pictures. Definitely an issue, especially at this range. And you already attempted various lighting, which eliminates this possibility.

Have you tried tapping on the screen to change focus?

Took phone to Apple Store and they determined it to be defective and swapped it out
