iPhone 7 plus Black is slippery / needs a case ?

I own an iPhone 6 plus grey and bought a case for its slippery.
I'm looking for the new iPhone 7 plus black (hoping the new camera is really an improvement over 6 model).
While i've read that for various reasons (scratches, slippery) the jet black absolutely needs a case it's the same also for black matte 7 plus model ?

The jet black is actually grippy/tacky. The matte black is just like the space grey 6 as far as texture.

The black is actually slightly more slippery than space grey or any of the other matte aluminum finishes. The texture has less grain to it. It's more like the texture of a trackpad.

You are probably right. Feels smoother. But the space grey is already too slippery to me haha.
