I just received my 7 Plus yesterday and it's up to date running 10.1.

On my previous iPhone 6 (running iOS 10), I had the ability to swipe left to preview certain things (for example - instagram posts, emails on my Airmail app, etc). Now, the only option it gives me is to "clear" the notification.

Is there a setting that has to be adjusted system-wide (or even within specific apps) to have the added functionality back that I had before, or is this just something that happens with 10.1?

You'd use 3D Touch for that kind of thing now.

You can adjust the sensitivity of the screen by going to settings > General > accessibility > 3D touch
