I have a brand new genuine iPhone 7 plus that was purchased overseas and now have it here in the states and being told I can't activate it at all. Please tell me how I can activate it here in California. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

Might be a reason it can not be activated. What model iPhone 7 is it? Is it locked to an overseas carrier?

What's the model on the back cover of the iPhone? What network are you trying to activate it on?

Some phones in Europe are locked to a specific carrier. Switzerland's Swisscom is an example for instance. If It's a carrier locked phone, you will not be able to activate it.

Make sure the phone is carrier free or sim free = unlocked and capable of accepting any SIM card.

It sounds like you bought a locked iPhone to a specific carrier.
And it will only work with sim cards from that particular carrier.
Contact the wireless provider that its locked to and ask them to unlock it.

Model A1661 and I just tried to activate at Verizon and they told me no U.S. Carrier can activate it.

Yes, in other words like we said above its locked.
No carrier can activated it besides the one that its locked to.
What network is it locked to do you know?

A1661 should work with CDMA network such as verizon and sprint in US. Unless there is locked on it like someone said. The site willmyphonework.net say should work on both carriers.
