Prepare your border, Canada...
We're gonna build a wall, and U.S.A. is gonna pay for it. They don't know it yet, but they're gonna pay for it. 100 percent.
Prepare your border, Canada...
I don't understand the connection between this rather dumb animation and the comment before it.

It's a conspiracy, I do say.
All carriers in Canada are GSM, so I imagine the iPhones sold in Canada are the GSM only models.Which model does Apple sell in Canada as "SIM-free?" CDMA/GSM or GSM?
That's NOT a true statement at all, since Canada has been selling unlocked iPhone from day 1, which is capatible with any carrier in the USAAll carriers in Canada are GSM, so I imagine the iPhones sold in Canada are the GSM only models.
Weird. So my reservation at the Apple Store in Metrotown didn't work out and they had no stock when I went down to get my "reserved" iPhone.
Checked tonight at 11:30 and it again showed the 7 Plus 256GB available for pickup at Metrotown tomorrow. So I proceeded to the checkout and paid for the iPhone.
I'm going to be pissed if they don't have my phone after charging my credit card. Reserving and not having is one thing, but accepting payment is quite another.
I picked up my reserved 128GB iPhone 7 Plus in Black today. Fairview in Toronto. 12:30-1pm window.
Yes I realize that you can buy unlocked iPhones at the Apple Store from day 1 in Canada (I live in Canada and bought my 6s this way). Since there are two different versions this year (a GSM only version with an Intel modem and and a GSM/CDMA model with a Qualcomm modem) and all carriers in Canada are GSM it is likely that the iPhones sold unlocked in Canada are the GSM only models since they will work with all Canadian carriers. That's NOT a true statement at all, since Canada has been selling unlocked iPhone from day 1, which is capatible with any carrier in the USA
I pre ordered my watch on the 9th and gave me an estimated date of the 30th! Well ups says I'm getting it Tuesday!I wonder if they'll have a reservation site for the watch as well?
It's funny how they have little to no stock for the U.S. but have it for other countries.
I hope your ready Canada for a nightmare lol

Interesting about Canadian operators all being GSM now. Wikipedia states CDMA still being phased out until early next year, but I guess no one is actually on it?

So no go for the Qualcomm modem version from Canada...
It's true that Telus and Bell did have CDMA 2G networks, but they overbuilt the existing network with HSPA+ in the late 2000s and have been shutting down and phasing out the older CDMA network with final shutdown in January 2017. I believe they stopped activating CDMA devices several years ago.I depends where in the country. Bell and Telux had CDMA networks and decided to completely overbuild the CDMA networks, which was mostly complete in the late 2000s. As far as I know, Telus has shut down their network. Bell still maintains the legacy network for now since some police services still used it for their squad car connectivity.
