So Apple will unveil 3 iPhones in September? i think it's more possible that they will reveal the iPhone 7 4.7" and call the 5.5" the iPhone 7 Pro (or iPhone Pro). if what's added is the dual camera it makes more sense to do that with the 5.5" than it does creating a separate phone just for the dual camera feature.

I'm also not convinced we will see the smart connector on the iPhone.

I don't think there will be 3 phones. I think Apple is going to pull the same trick they did with the iPad Pro. They're going to introduce the "7 Pro" in place of the "Plus" which then becomes last years big phone. I think they've decided they like "Pro" better than "Plus" as a naming convention. And, that way they can maybe charge more for what would have been the Plus model. Just like they seem to be depreciating the "Air". I wouldn't be surprised then to see a 4" 7 come out that is essentially unbranded, letting the size do all the talking for them -- the iPhone in two sizes: 4" & 4.7" and the iPhone Pro.

The Smart Connector makes too much sense not to implement, if for no other reason than to tap into battery packs. But if the headphone jack rumor is true, that connector will go a long way toward making integrated adapter cases too, which may mean the difference to retaining many iPhone customers or not.

In the PC/Mac days of old, I was a happy warrior, taking the PC side, but it was in ignorance, as I never used a Mac for more than a few minutes.
After getting a Mac, and hating it for a month, I love it.

That is when I realized that it's a tool thing. You don't use a hammer where a screwdriver will do, or a tape measure when you need a socket wrench. You use the right tool for the job.

So, when someone says they love their Android, good for them! If someone loves their 6SE, and it works for them, great! Mrs. thequik loves her 6S, and I love my 6+, and 2 of my kids have 6S+ phones, because they work for us.

In the end, when I'm on my death bed, I'm probably not going to be thinking, "Man, I should have gone to war over the new Chinese phone that Fignuts on Macrumors was so proud of in 2017."
Dang. Real talk.

I am pretty disappointed that the 7 will basically be another s release saving the redesign for the 10 year anniversary.

I see what they are doing, but with he 6S being the first iPhone not to outsell its predecessor, I didn't think they would wait.

I think it's possible that the "Pro" will replace the "Plus" model, i also agree that they will probably charge more for the "Pro" model, if it has the dual camera then i wont mind. If they do add the smart connector i do think that it will be for accessories but i also think they may use it for a feature as well, maybe wireless charging?

Personally i'm interested to see what the iPhone 7 is going to be like, i will upgrade from my 6 Plus and then if all the rumours are true and they do a BIG redesign next year with wireless charging, all glass design, no home button and so on, then i will just sell the 7 (like i will do with my 6 Plus) and by the iPhone 7S or 8 (depending on the rumours).

Seeing the iPads PROS got the 256GB option it would be most likely the next iPhone will get 256GB?

Like the iPad current lineup of 32/128/256GB... Altho I wish the 64GB was slotted in between, it's most likely apple trying to get people to push up to 128GB at the mid tier strategy [after they delayed the 32GB base model for a long time?? idk]

Ditto, smart connector made sense for iPad pro because of the keyboard which is rather a big accessory. But I don't think people are going to put a keyboard or some sense into an iPhone it was made for "portability" not to be like an iPad... or rather a shrunken ipad that fits in your pocket*

That being said I will be proven wrong directly... because who knows I might have not think what they actually had in mind which could blow me away.

Nah I'd say that it will just be 32 and 128. The iPhone 5S, which came out after the iPad got 128GB, only maxed out at 64GB.

Maybe next year.

Steve Jobs was right, in that consumers are idiots and they should only make one product in one size. Apple fans were all getting along great until the 6 and 6+ came out, and then people split up and started hating on the other phone model.

Apple fans have always been bickering with each other over storage space. Probably not to the extent that they do now over size, but make no mistake, people will always find some reason to resort to faux outrage and voicing their insecurities.

iPhone has become a status symbol. Anybody will say so.

How is it a status symbol when it essentially costs the same and is as easy to get as any other comparable smart phone?
