Photography is a hobby I have. While I usually bring my DSLR I wanted to see how the iPhone 7 RAW images look like after some editing. Using the same process as I use to edit the RAW files from a Nikon D810.

This is no scientific article, just a quick look.

I dont think the iPhone 7 Camera can replace a DSLR, and you can see the noise from the small sensor when you pixel peep. With that said, most people doesnt pixel-peep images and if you print them and hang them on a wall I doubt you would see that much of a difference.
 
I can see more noise in your raw.jpg file and more compression artifacts in the jpeg.jpg file. Noise is better than jpeg artifacts imho.
 
Yes I think the noise looks WAY better than the compression. Plus the dynamic range is insane!
