Has anyone gone from iPhone 6/7/8 size to 12 mini or 13 mini?

How does the size feel in the hand? What about reachability of the bottom and the top of the screen?

I'm on iPhone 7 and considering upgrading. Portability is important for me.

The iPhone 12 or 13 mini is very portable in pocket and hand vs the iPhone 7 & 8.

If needed, you can use the Reachability feature with the iPhone 13 mini just like you can on the iPhone 6/7/8.

I went from the 8 to the 12 Mini and it was a very smooth transition. The screen size is perfect with the Mini having a slightly larger screen despite the overall phone having a smaller footprint.

I've upgraded from 8 to 13mini and it is absolutely fantastic. I couldn't be happier. The screen is much bigger, yet the phone feels smaller and lighter in hand. Highly recommended.

The mini feels spectacular in hand, it is really awesome in that regard. Just like @jav6454 said, it feels almost like an iPhone 5/5S.

The problem that made me return it -which I hated- is the OLED and the PMW and the headaches it gave me that screen. My eyes were red and sore, and I couldn’t stand it. Maybe it wasn’t the phone’s fault, that’s why I plan on giving it another chance in November, when the Christmas returning period starts. That way, I’ll have more time to test it and see if my eyes have a problem with current OLED technology or not.

Another problem I had with OLED was the color temperature of the screen and the color shift when moving the device and changing the vision angle, but I guess that’s unavoidable until Apple starts using QD-OLED on their iPhones. QD-OLED have better vision angles, and are flickering free screens. That could be the answer to my problems, so maybe I’ll have to wait until iPhones get those screens… Sadly, it is unlikely that Apple will release a new iPhone mini in the future with all this new technology.

But for those that can tolerate current OLED screens, yeah, the 13 mini is really an awesome device that feels super handy and comfortable on hand, just like in the old days, when you were able to reach all the screen with your thumb. Good old days.

I just got the 13 Mini after many years with a 7 Plus and really like having a smaller phone again. It's not a small as the 4 or 5, especially with a case on it but it's easier to hold and pocket than the 7 Plus was. The only thing I don't like is the notch, while it's not as wide it's too tall, seems like they could have made it shorter. And sadly this may be the last smaller iPhone so I guess I'll be keeping it for at least 5 years.

Is fantastic, I went from a 7 (and a little time with a spare original SE) to the 13 mini and it was fantastic.
But it caused me problems as eye soreness and headaches and I had to move to an SE 2022.
I algo prefer touch id

Our electronics are causing more and more eye strain because we tend to blink less when using them. And because it's direct light into our eyes, that makes it worse. Would be like watching TV in the dark all day. But yeah, I liked the Touch ID as well but I am surprised how good the Face ID seems to be working.

While staring at a display for endless hours has always been a problem for decades, recently, iPhone displays have taken a turn for the worse. A lot worse.
The primary cause for eye strain using a more recent iPhone is from temporal dithering (flickering) of the colors to give you that “billions of colors” BS and PWM flickering on OLED screens to cheat OLED tech’s inability to dim.
Staring at an iPhone nowadays is like staring at a fast strobe light.
