I need to present to a large group of people and need to connect my iPhone to a projector and a separate audio source. With the iPhone 7, how can I do this? With my other older iPhones I was able to use the VGA or HDMI lightning adapter for video and just plug-in at 3.5 mm cable to the headphone jack. Does the lightning port on the digital AV adapter or work with the lightning to 3.5 mm headphone adapter for the iPhone 7? What are my options here?

answered my own question. will not work. lightning port on av adapter is charge only

I bring my UE MegaBoom Bluetooth speaker for those occasions. I presented in front of approx. 50 people. Used the VGA adapter for the projector. The UEBoom has a range of 100ft.

I have an Apple Watch as well. So I was able to leave my phone next to the projector, the speaker closer to the audience and used the PowerPoint App for the Watch to move forward or backward in the slides. Approx. 30% of my slides had sound which came over fine via the speaker. In addition I was able to control the volume with the crown on my watch and all of that while working with the audience.

I have used this now on a handful of occasions and am really satisfied with the setup.
