iPhone 7 Touch ID not working when charging

Hey so I just recently bought this phone (yesterday) but I've just noticed that the Touch ID doesn't work when it's charging? I've never had this problem with older phones so just wondering if it's covered under Apple's warranty or if I should send it back to Giffgaff (where I bought it from)?

There's no case on it, and the charger I'm using is the one it came with. I also tried it with another older original Apple charger and it doesn't work...

It's suppose to work. Try reseting it. DFU mode.

I have had some weird issues with charging and my iPad in the past. Turned out it was a faulty cable creating a short I suspect in the wires. Replaced the cable and the issue went away. Have you tried different cables?

Actually I have the same issue with my ip6s... previously it suddenly stopped working unless I give it a light knock on my palm and it work but when come to charging it is still won't work .
