I will be trading in my iPhone 7 128GB when the new iPhone comes out. The trade-in companies don't knock off any money from the trade-in value for general wear & tear, but I was wondering whether a very small amount of paint coming off the bottom of my iPhone is covered under wear & tear or not? If not, then how much money could I expect to lose from the trade-in value?

At the moment, I can get £350 for it from various companies like O2, CPW and Vodafone. I am expecting to lose a maximum of £50 due to the chipping.

Anyone with experience with trading in iPhones?

I wonder if trade in is really worth it... won't you get more if you try to sell privately?

Currently the prices on eBay for used iPhone 7 128GB is about the same as the trade in prices, some of them are a little more but most of them are roughly the same price as the trade in price.

I’ll try selling it on Swappa, ebay charges 10% fee so **** that.

I sell mine on forums in the uk. No fees and beats eBay and the like. Last year I got £470 for my 128gb 6+ after the 7 was released.

I've got a few devices that I'd like to get rid off, I posted here a few days ago but nobody responded. Which forum do you use?

You could always try gumtree? Sold quite a few on there but be aware of total pi$$ takers on there with ridiculous offers. I've had some offering half of the amount I have advertised for and others wanting to swap PlayStation games and jewellery for a phone! Just clearly stipulate no stupid offers on the description if you go this route. I've shifted all my mobiles this way and in a matter of just a couple of days. Plus it's free!

This is exactly what I'm facing right now. Pissed off and don't even want to deal with those people.

Envirofone will give £405 for your device and use EXTRA5 for another 5%. Do it now even if you end up not going through with it as the price will drop tomorrow as the event is on .... this is a tactic I've used for 4 years....

EDIT: Assuming it's unlocked.... if not, then £350.

Much better to get the phone unlocked, it won't cost more than £10-20, and its worth it. You'll get more money when you trade in. Even if you don't and decide to sell elsewhere like eBay, you'll be able to get more money as your phone won't be restricted to only a certain group of people (who are with the same carrier as you).

I got a price of £455 for my iPhone 7 Plus 128gb from Envirofone on Friday it’s valid for two weeks and last year got a 5 day extension so gives me a chance to see what price new iPhones are and if manage to order one when they go live

I’m sure there is still an “extra5” code currently valid for envirofone.

Though be aware, envirofone will knock the price down for cosmetic issues

You couldn’t have used the code, it’s £455 without the code.

Voucher Code (Extra5) has been added, giving you £ 22.75 more
I WILL RECEIVE: £477.75
(Including £ 22.75 voucher code)
