The attached screen cap is directly from the Apple Store. iPhone X, on the other hand, doesn't have the unlocked option.

So if you order the unlocked one, they will have to give you a CDMA model so that you could potentially go to Sprint/Verizon, right? I was going to start a thread about which model to get with the different radios. But maybe that's unnecessary now? Just get an unlocked one. Hopefully this will also do this for the X as it gets closer.

I'll be buying iPhone 8 64gb iPhone 8 plus 256 and iPhone X 256 all sim free. Not sure of colors
 
Are all models the same this year or is it like last year where the tmo/att only work on tmo/att?
It looks just like last year. AT&T and T-Mo will have Intel. Verizon and Sprint will get Qualcomm. Sim-Free model will get Qualcomm in the U.S because it has to work on Verizon or Sprint and other CDMA networks.

It does appear as though they will carry on with the same split Intel and Qualcomm chips for the 8 and 8+.
