This has only happened in the last week or so. I got up at 7am this morning battery at 100%, I get to work, at 8.30 and my battery is at 60%, so I look in what is eating the battery, and its my Torch. It's saying my torch has been on for 15 hours, and has used 91% of my battery

The torch is not on, nor has it been on.

There are no background apps

This is happening every day

Any ideas people ?

I didn't know you could delete the Torch app. If I delete it how do i get it back ?

There is no such “torch app” preinstalled on iphones. It’s just the toggable icon you can turn on and off.

In your case, you say you have it turned off right? And you’re sure the torch icon isn’t on? Because if it’s on, and you don’t see the actual light, then there’s something wrong inside the phone itself.

When did you purchase your phone?

No problem with you being "that guy" I work in support, so I know that the silly questions need to be asked. Yes Ive turned it on and off, and hard reset it. My phone is coming up to 2 years old, and I'm due a new one in a couple of weeks, its just annoying that my battery doesn't last more than 3 hours now. My next thing I'm going to try is reset a backup from last week. it didn't happen then. DO you think that will work ?

My 6s did something similar. I had all intentions of keeping the phone for a couple more years as I really loved it. However, I was due for an upgrade with my carrier so I just replaced it and moved on.

Hey sorry I was away a few days, how'd you make out? Did you restore from the older backup and if so did it resolve this? If not, how about a restore and then setting up as new. I know it can be a pain, but that way you can rule out a rogue app.

the restore from backup fixed the problem, no idea why it happened in the first place though
